Default Flashing Temperature on HVAC Climate Control Unit

Hey guys I was wondering if anybody knew how to fix the problem when the climate control starts flashing and does not work in our c6's? I know everyone says its dying and you need to buy a new unit but I was wondering if anybody was actually able to fix this themselves. I think it could be something as easy as loose solder joints. Please chime in if you have any information or have fixed a unit yourself. Thanks

Here is a quick video I took of the problem:

I had the same problem last year in my 2005. It would flash
on and off. The unit worked, but it was not much fun to
look at.The unit had to be replaced.

Mine did it several times a few months ago, then stopped. It's been normal since then.

My 04 4Runner had the same problem. It was the compressor clutch relay. $75.00 for the Toyota-branded relay and the A/C is perfect. Do some research on Google for vehicles with same problem.

Just had the same problem when I took it out of storage in March. First day the display started flashing and the next day the flashing stopped but the radio and NAV didn't work.

Took it to the dealer and they obtained some disk to reflash or reprogram everything and after 2 days it was back to normal--no replacement. I think there's TSB on it. If your dealer doesn't have it PM me and I'll search my records.

Reviving an old thread: I'm getting this on my '06 now. Has anyone fixed it without replacing the unit?

Happened to me today, started flashing, worked okay.

Pulled the 10 amp fuse to the a/c controls, reinserted and the flashing stopped.

???? the fix???

Did you ever find the TSB on this issue? Thanks for your help!

My 13 GS Convert had the same problem with less than 300 miles on the odometer. Replaced the unit under warranty.

Yeah, mine's an 08 with about 50k... I am thinking about taking it to the dealer for their trouble code analysis. And if they say it's the head unit, wait until it goes out all together, and replace it myself. The part is only about $300 online.
I just don't want to drive it like this if it could be harming the compressor, etc... Thanks.

Mine just started doing this today, I am guessing by the lack of responses that everyone on here just replaced it and was good to go after?

There is a reset procedure that you might want to try, press the first two buttons on the right and the fan speed up buttons on the AC control at the same time. It updates the temperature readout not sure what else it does.

Mine did this on and off for over a year. would be fine, then do it, then be fine. Replaced it with a used unit, no issues so far.
