The service writer, who also is a friend, at the Chevy dealer that I have dealt with for years that are a big Corvette sales and service operation told me that the fluid change was not a problem from the standpoint of causing any damage.
It was a TSB that they were completely familiar with and had done many times to correct the clunking, noise and jerking if the car owner wanted to get rid of those irritations. He was the one that told me that they always do the axle bolt TSB when they do the fluid change TSB.
He told me to just wait till I brought the car in for any other service and was no hurry because it wouldn't cause any damage to the differential. I had it done with the last oil change and all the rear end things that were there before were gone immediately.

Sorry but I have no idea what was involved and I was not even aware of it until the service writer mentioned it. This dealership is very up on Vettes and take very good care of Vette drivers. They even have a separate special area that they are parked in with about 10' between the cars while they wait to go in for service.

Can someone tell me what years of C6 vettes can be affected with the clunking rear end noise that needs a rear end diff. fluid change and bolts tourqed and then driven in figure eights. I am intersted in the YEARS of the C6 cars that are affected ONLY not the problem itself ,had the problem on my 2006 C6 and am wondering if all C6 cars are prone to the problem .Thanks guys by the way I have a 2008 C6....

I torqued mine to 140 per original spec since I didn't change the nut. Both nuts turned almost 1/2 turn before they torqued to 140. Stopped my popping when changing directions.

Had a change of the rear diff fluid + GM additive and problem went away. Got the additive from GM dealer. Didn't know that GM had changed the fluid requirement, it certainly would've been cheaper.

Burning Brakes
Rear end
On my 2007 it starred at around the 19k miles mark. Took it to the dealer and cganged the oil on the rear end. Got rid of the noise. Now that I have 34k miles on the click it started again.

Pop the center cap off the wheel. Use a 33 millimeter socket and torque to 160 foot pounds. No jacking, no removing wheel. If you search for rear axle nut torque you'll find the TSB with same instructions. TSB 07-04-95-001

Can someone post a copy of the latest bulletin? There have been several revisions over the years.
