2 bottles of WaterWetter in the Vette lowered temps 5-10 degrees. 1 bottle in the John Deere lowered temps 10 full degrees. Both use antifreeze.

Those that ALWAYS say save your money or Don't do it, have most likely never tried it. Won't hurt a darn thing.

I was always told to mix it with straight water. Maybe that's why it always worked for me.

No doubt it works better with straight water, but newer formula is fine with antifreeze.

Good stuff. I use that in my 07 Vet, which has over 120,000 miles on it. So far so good, it is good for corrosion prevention as well.

I may try the same. My 05 can easily reach 220 or 225 when pulling a hill. Today the abmient temp was 101 and the coolant temp hit 232 when pulling a hill at 35 mph. It did come back down quickly once off the grade however.

I remember a mechanic telling me not reaching norm operating temps leads to valve problems. Anyone else hear the same ever?

That is not really such a great thing. These LS engines "Like it Hot"

There is a reason they run the temps that they do. There is nothing wrong...

I'm resurrecting the old thread. I've now seen tested #'s showing that although these water wetter products DO slightly reduce temps even with normal 50/50 antifreeze /water blends, that they DO cool better with just distilled water. A nice middle ground, if you live in a moderate climate like me in Seattle- is to use only 20% antifreeze and 80% distilled water and then your water wetter additive.

Should be closer still to water only and water + water wetter temps.

What I said on post #9 of this thread from 5 years ago ....

Water Wetter was designed to be most effective when used with straight water (as used in drag racing competition cars).

Adding it to the normal coolant mix we have in our C6s is pretty much a waste of money and does very little to lower coolant temps.
