I picked up the ZO a few minutes ago...
Here what they found, and replaced:
19257603 Evaporative Emission Canister Valve Solenoid Jumper Wiring
13575703 Fuel Tank Evaporator Control. SOLENOID. VALVE
This was all plus labor. They found it doing a smoke test.
Never heard of this problem. Google the parts numbers if you are curious about what the parts look like.

Warranty is replacing fuel pump and covering all labor. I am paying for hoses. My total is $532.xx. Much better than the $1603.xx warranty is paying. Glad I bought this warranty. Has def paid for itself.

Anyone use an aftermarket module? Walbro has one rated at 600+hp. On ebay they go for as little as 245.99 and come with a level sensor. I have to replace both sides as I have the dreaded 'service fuel system' problem as well. I plan on buying that module, a Bosch module for the RH side ($70 on ebay), a RH level sensor and 10337588 crossover tubes from number1gmparts. About $418 in parts. I am buying the extra parts as a precaution. Anyone forsee any problems??

dealer says out of warranty...so OK...question...I am getting ready to do this..gotta drop BOTH tanks and replace the LH pump module and RH level sensor. Why not order new crossover tubes, and just cut the old ones since they tend to break anyway?? GM sells just those as opposed the whole crossover assembly. Would this save a ton of time for $45 in parts?? Or am I missing something?? I have on '08 Base A6...

If your Corvette has had a problem with fuel smell coming from the car after you fill the tank, YOU NEED TO GO TO THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND FILL OUT A COMPLAINT.
https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/
This issue seems to be reported most often on 2008 Corvettes, but it may also impact other year models.
This issue is very serious. Fuel leaks out the top of the tanks, and will then drip down the back side onto the hot exhaust. If ignored this could result in a fire and possible death.
If parked overnight in a garage, the vapor will fill the garage and could easily be triggered into an explosion and fire from a gas water heater or other ignition source.
I can't park my C6 in my garage without it filling the entire garage with fumes so strong that I can't even keep my dogs in there. The vapors then seep into the house. The car is unsafe to drive, and unsafe to leave parked.
This is a safety defect, and if GM doesn't recall these cars and fix them, it is eventually going to result in someones car burning up and possibly burning down their house as well. The potential for loss of life is very high, and the problem that causes this needs to be found and fixed before someone dies from it.

I have this gas smell, I'm trying to figure out which tank it might be as the passenger is much cheaper to drop. I read one site that said if I smell gas under 1/2 its the passenger tank, this doesn't really make sense as the passenger tank gets used first. I do have a bad passenger float sensor it seems and the gas smell seems to have started around this time.

What dealership do you use, I have that fuel smell, any special person I should talk with? Any help is greatly appreciated. Great run last weekend, no traffic to speak of and great weather.
Thanks, Rick

Just back from the dealer. Had an oil change and had them check the fuel smell. My 08 is leaking. It will be a few days to get the parts and a 2day job. Thankfully Im still covered just turned 116k miles. The sad thing GM has this problem on other vehicles in their lineup what cant they defects instead of hoping problems dont happen.

I would pull the fuel rail covers (plastic covers with LS2/LS3 written on them), then press the ignition button without holding down the clutch. This will pressurize the fuel lines and you may notice a leak at this point from the fuel rails. Fuel rail replacement is easy and simple if so.
