Personally I am impressed how infrequently stock C-6 breaks down based on fellow forum members writing about it. It was not the same when I owned 95 Z28 and blogged about it. ~53k trouble free miles besides wearing down some suspension parts and seat track by having fun in the canyons. Warranty took care of both .

My first Vette 2001, piece o crap with numerous issues. All covered by warranty. Could not believe owners paid 55K for a car living at the dealer. Traded it for 2003 50th vert. Being the big anniversary over all it was fine. Still had the leaking rearend/tranny at 2800 miles. Found it just after coming back from the 50th gathering in Bowling Green. But that was the only major isse. My 2006 MR A6 cpe was near perfect. Kept it 5 yrs with no issues. Over all build QC has gotten better IMO. Had a 2011 Callaway Camaro for 8 mo's to many little ergo comfort issues for me and I miss owning the Corvette. Traded and back in a 09 Callaway vert 6sp man and love it..

Perfect outside of the issues I created myself with mods.

2005 Z51 M6 - I purchased with 23k miles 3 years ago, now has 58k miles. I've replaced rear end links, battery, oil, and do the Ranger thing with clutch fluid - other than that trouble-free fun DD.

I have over 120,000 miles on my 07 Z51 A6 DD with only a few problems: (1). I had a lifter stop moving at around 86,000 miles. This gave me a reason to do more upgrades. (2). I had some Diff problems at around 103,000 which aloud me to have a RPM Diff installed. Overall this is a great car and I would drive it just about anywhere.

2008 c6 coupe 8000miles on it and I lost the motor two months ago. Have no idea why the engine blew it guts all over the road, I drove it like a little old lady. Yeah right, I drove it like the movie " vanishing point" I have also gutted two engines in my 1990 C4, and a grand total of six 530CI cadillac engines on my airboat. Wait there is more, I also gutted the engine in my Duramax, and blew the heads off my old Powerstroke. Lets no even talk about transmission, I should just own a transmission shop. I guess I am what they called " gifted". The only thing I was not able to blow up is my old F350 with a 351W. It had a 9# powerdyne supercharger, 9" of lift and 38" tires. I drove it like it was stolen and it just refused to die. I spun a bearing in a Landrover discovery, does that count?

2005 ordered new have 42,000+ miles. No major problems. A few warranty issues like gas cap, and gas cap release cable replaced. The car is factory stock condition.

I have an 08 w/18900 miles only time @ the dealer for the roof recall and oil changes. The best Vette out of the five I've owned!

Bought my 2005 coupe in 2006 with 4k miles on it. There are 51k miles on it now with, virtually, no problems. The normal stuff like gas cap seal, DBS, etc., but nothing else to speak of. I drive it to Florida an back every year. Very comfortable car and I'm very happy with it.

I was going to buy a newer C6 but, "Why?". It looks like a 2012. I'll wait until the C7.

2009 with just under 20k miles, ZERO problems. I take the roof creaking as normal for a targa style top and it is easily cured. My only complaint is the squeaky brakes which I am told is normal on the z51 equipped cars.

I have the squeaky brakes on my 2008 non-Z51. I had the surfaces machined but they still squeak under light braking. No other issues for the past 6000 miles (in 5 months) that I have owned it. I did get an extended warranty just in case though.

Very, very well said. My 2006 coupe will have its in-service five year anniversary on Sep. 28 with 21,150 miles. One TMPS went out, GY's replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZPs, and going in tomorrow AM for brake pads. Otherwise, follow the schedule.

You can't beat that with a stick!

Oh, and I've blown up the crappy LS7 every 5,000, or so, miles. J/K

My 06 C6 A6 has been an absolute lemon, it has been to so many dealers that they hate to see me coming!

This is a list of some the actual problems listed on two actual pages of the warranty history repairs, yes, two actual pages of repairs:

1. Two differentials,
2. Three batteries,
3. Two seat modules,
4. Crank sensor,
5. Harmonic balancer,
6. Rear wheel bearing,
7. Transmission cooling hoses,
8. Rear differential seals
9. Top separation,
10. Rear links,
11. Exhaust spring hangers,
12. Two shifters,
13. Door latch shims,
14. Steering wheel connector,
15. Loose exhaust clamps,
16. Gas cap,
17. Clutch packs, And
18. Whatever else I forgot to add to the list (I did not list the reflashes of computers).

This lasted for 4 1/2 years and 60K miles with some unprofessional dealers- or stealer---ships. Bowling Green Assembly Plant engineer said, "I was in the worst 2% of Corvetts" when I spent 2 1/2 days in the plant with two engineers and a Union supervisor, that tells you something.

Yea, I got the "BIGGEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!"

PS: I won't tell you about the GM's 1,000s/s (one thousand shares) I lost in bankrupcy.

And this is a "Halo Car"

While I have faith in the car, it was very unnerving being 2500 miles from home in it and the cruise control not working all of a sudden, and every once in a while the tranny feeling....'funny'.

I am booked for optimum inspection Tuesday, for 48 month 48000 km gmpp.

I have had a few C6's and currently own 2. My 05 had a heated seat problem and that is about it and we have driven them full time from April to Dec for 7? years. Not bad I would say.

That would be me.

My 06 A6 is now at 57K miles and besides the dealer replacing the top due to the delamination problem (easy fix for me, under warranty), I have replaced the gas cap twice at about $20-25 a pop. This is my DD.
