Default My Centennial on the deck of the Carrier Lexington

You must add this event on your bucket list.....Vette's & Jets is held every two years in Corpus Christi, TX as a fund raiser for the "Wounded Warriors Project. They put 350 Corvettes on the deck of the Lexington for the weekend, check into this one for 2013 (beware, registration fills up fast) .

Here are a couple of Pics of my Centennial on the Lex;

A few more pics of the my car;

Photos do not do the paint justice on this car....you must see it in the sunlight! And yes, she's three days old as of today

This is a Link to Video of loading cars onto the carrier. This was done very early in the morning with little light........

That's the first time I've seen the Lady Lex since she used to be berthed in downtown Pensacola. I'm glad the ship found a home rather than being sold for scrap.

I'm over in Haslet and would love an opportunity to see a Centennail in person. Do you ever stop by "Up N Smoke"?

Gee, the last time I had my car on a carrier (the USS Shangri-La CV38) was in 1966 when we sailed from the Philadelphia Navy Yard to our home port in Jacksonville, FL. We had to sign a release that said if we went to war they could dump our cars overboard!

Anyway, nice pics!

Nice looking Centennial... I love the blacked out look...

I was part of the decommissioning crew for the Blue Ghost. Duty on there was great... I was a tour guide on duty days... Do they still have all of the red Japanese flags except for the one black one above the quarterdeck? I have been meaning to go to TX and take a tour, just have to make the time and do it...
