Why does my battery go dead when it sits for 2 weeks
This is second time it happened to me, the battery going dead after sitting for 2 weeks. I know i need to drive it more but i have never had this problem with other Corvettes. Its a 2010 Grand Sport Manual trans car with 3900 miles. I guess its off to the dealer to have it checked

There's a reason you can buy a battery tender as an option on these cars.
Get a tender and all will be fine.

Yes, no need for the dealer. Just buy a CTEK 3300 and keep it charged when you're not going to drive it for a while.
I learned my lesson after it happened to me twice as well.

1st: get rid of the battery and replace it with a new AC/Delco Professional Series. If it's been run dead twice, it's not worth keeping. Then hook up your CTEK 3300 and your battery woes are over

Has anyone heard of leaving it in reverse instead of a forward gear to not drain the battery on the car when parked? I typically put my car in 1st or 3rd when parked, but the previous owner of my car explicitly said to leave the car in the reverse gear, which will not drain the battery.

Get the ctek with cigarette lighter adapter
Lot sof guys talk a big game about tenders, then leave in cubby, get lazy or dont want to hook up clamps or eyelets with their suit, sunday, or date clothes on or when they get back late.
With cig adpater, you just push it in and she is happy

I am careful where I drive my C6 and I don't drive it in the rain or on wet roads. Just what I choose to do with my Corvette so it sits in the garage for weeks at a time. That pattern isn't going to change especially with winter on the way. When I know the car is going to sit for more than a few days I put it on the Battery Tender. Keeps the battery fully charged. You don't want your battery to go dead in the C6 as you will loose settings and have a re-boot hassel. There is a lot of good information on the forum about Battery Tenders and how to use them. They are safe when used correctly and can prolong battery life. Chevy included a battery maintainer as a Battery Protection Option in 2011 so they know many of these cars sit for extended periods in garages and there is battery drain over time. I have used a Battery Tender for years and it works fine. Others have recommended CTEK and other brands. It is what it is.

the M2W even when "off" will slowly drain the battery in 2 or 3 weeks
(not a couple of months as their instructions claim).
There is a "no drain" installation procedure, but it is more complicated. I read one post here
on the CF not too long ago by someone who did this, and it still killed the battery eventually.
OP, as others have said, just get a tender and use it all the time.
