Man Cave wont be ready so I will have to ....
i am having a 6 car garage built but am not sure we will be able to break ground before winter hits us in Canada...\i will send pics when we start. 2 (10 x 10) garage doors with Jack Shaft openers.
so I will have to plan to store my vette this winter. It will be the first time in 4 vettes that I will have to do this and wont have access to it nor can i hook up my battery tender.
so i need your help. I will remove the battery cause it will be well below freezing. so does this make sense?
* lower the windows
* check that the key works over the licence plate
* do all the usual prep work that i do
* cover and kiss it goodnight
* leave the hood open a few inches, usually put a b-ball on the manifold
cause when i return, i need to be able to;
* open hood and replace battery
* get into car and start it
anything i am missing?

OP I really feel your pain but at the same time I have no sympathy for you whatsoever. I say this because I have a 1 car garage which is attached to my house. I love this because it stays warm enough for me to pop in and check up on her or complete some mods over the winter hibernation. So I'm sorry you will not be able to do that but do envy the fact that you will soon enough have a 6 car garage! I would kill for a 2 car garage. Hang in there pal.

Correct, no outlets, does the car lighter thing work? It draws from the same source I am trying to save>
6 car - but not because i have 6 cars, I have a John Deere tractor for driveway and heavy gardening, a John Deere lawn tractor, two trailers and a few cars. Basically, everything would have to sit in the rain and snow if I did nt do this.
i will post pre, during and post construction
thanks for all your help folks

Drifting
When I store a car i like to put it on jack stands to get the weight off the springs. I also like to squirt a little marvel mystery oil into each spark plug hole. Fill it with fuel and add stabilizer to keep out the moisture.

Yes, you can use the cigarette lighter socket to attach a battery Tender. That's how I do it.

Theres plenty of articles explaining how to properly "store" a car for the winter. You are definitely on the right track, but here's a head start:
http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=winter+car+storage
Also If you are truly concerned about storing the car, have you looked into a storage facility? Depending on where you live, the prices arent all that bad.
