Interior Lights Stay On
Okay I've had my used '07 3LT Vert for 6 months now with absolutely no problems - until today. The interior lights will not turn off after the time selected through the DIC (15 sec). All the exterior lights go out like they should, but the interior lights just stay on. I've opened/closed all the doors/hood/trunk numerous times, started the car, put the top up and down, even re-selected the time delay in the DIC - no joy. The lights (rearview mirror, footwell) will not go out.
Here's hoping someone else has had this little problem and found an easy fix. Thanks in advance.

Push in and release the dash dimming switch at your left knee.

You can also turn the courtesy lamps on and off
by pressing the instrument panel brightness ****.

You probably bumped the little push-button switch with your knee when getting in or out.
Check that switch - it's on the kick panel to the left of the steering column.
You can turn it to adjust the panel lights, but if you push it you get what you're experiencing.

Fixed it - don't know how, though!
I forgot to mention in the first post that I checked the "dome" light/dash light button/rheostat as well - turned on/off the lights with that while the car was running. Here's what I did, based on numerous other posts involving electrical gremlins - disconnected the battery, went and took a shower, reconnected the battery, started the car, played with all the lights again. When I shut off the car, got out, shut the door - the lights went out a few seconds after the exterior lights did. Oh, and I did remember to index the windows.
I understand systems - on aircraft. Except for electrical systems. When students asked me about something electrical and how it worked, I always responded "magic".
Thanks everyone for replying to the post. Doesn't everyone work?

You bumped the button next to your left knee. Depress it once. Close the doors. The lights should go off in a few seconds. If not check the lights in the rear view mirror. Believe it or not they turn off by depressing in. You'd think it was the opposite. I've been bitten by this too.

Patience, Patience
Yep, I could have waited a little while - I honestly didn't think the excellent replies would be posted so quickly - and I was worried the battery would go dead anyway. I was gonna wait at least a few hours before checking for replies, but when I reconnected the battery I came back inside to see all these replies. Wow.
Lesson learned, and thanks again everyone for the replies.

I'd say about 80% to 90% of us have done this at least once. I did it about 2 months ago, after having had C6s for 7 years and posting here about it approximately 15 to 20 times.
