Continental DWS Extreme tire
Anyone here have any experience with this tire or knows someone who had it on their Corvette?
Were they happy with it? Likes or dislikes?
This DWS Extreme tire is the all season version. It isn't the other DW dry only version.

Have them on my CTS as a replacement to PS2s. Turn in is definitely sacrificed, but they are a smooth, quiet tire with very good grip level and a good wear rating (particulalry compared to the PS2s).

But a very quiet, smooth tire. I loved them and would get them again.

Have the DW series came highly recommended by Mgr. of local Discount Tire[he has them on his Z06] very satisfied quite a little soft on hard turns.

I had them on my 06 CTS. They definitely have a soft sidewall compared to any of the OEM Vette tires and as indicated, are quiet and have decent grip. I drove the CTS in up to 4" of snow and, while not a great snow tire, they never let me down. I had lowered the CTS about 2" and was running 35-profile tires on it. The DWS's had good consumer ratings so I thought I would give them a try. I was happy with them for the year/20k miles that I drove on them (traded the CTS on my 07 Coupe).
My only prior experience with Continental was with the OEM tires on a 2002 Ford Taurus that we bought for my daughter in 2007. The car only had 8600 miles on it when bought and had been garage-kept its entire life, but the sidewalls were very badly age/weather-cracked. I replaced the tires before she left for college as I didn't want to risk her having a blowout on the highway.

I've got the DW Extremes on (BTW: They are not all seasons). I really like the feel of them as compared to the OEM Goodyears. I don't track the car, so I cannot tell you how they are in real aggressive driving situations. They definitely are a big improvement on uneven or milled surfaced roads. My old GY's would "dive" left or right without any notice.

The stickier tires will show the difference on hard drivers/track that take those hi speed turns but hey don't have to deal with bumpy pothole roads so I'll go for the comfort for a little trade off in this area.

Friend of mine has the non RFT contis on his C6 and likes them. Hes an older guy and doesn't do much carving though.
I live in the sierra mountains in California near Lake Tahoe and my DD is all mountain roads so I need a really good responsive tire.
It all depends on what most of your drive consists of IMO.
I have the RFT stones and they have pretty good turn in and power. I can really dig into the turns without ending up with a bunch of under-steer.
I wouldn't want to any less tire performance though.

This DWS tire looks strange in that it looks like two different tred patterns that go across the tire. It looks like a cut in half unlike the other DW Contiental tire that has the same tred pattern across the whole tire.

I have Conti DWS's on my GTO
I've had them 20k on the front (then rear), and 14k on the rear (then front). Tires rotated once, tracked once (hard usage at the track). Tread depth is on average 6/32nds. I'm pulling them off this year for the Winter (last year they where driven year round); I expect to get 5-10k more miles and and drive them on the track at least once more.

I've had the Conti DWSs on my C6 since last October - approx 10,000 miles - and I really like them. They are quiet, have good traction in dry and wet and I was able to get around last winter in a few inches of snow with them. They appear to be wearing well and I'm pretty sure I'd buy them again. They may not be as sticky as a summer tire but they're still pretty good and the traction when the temps are below 45 or so degrees is good.

I know there are other tires like Kumho, Falken or that other one that starts with a "V" but those still cost more and are for dry driving only. Continental is a brand name and a all season tire.

I put them on my 05 C6 over a year ago. The ride is much better and the road noise has reduced. I am not an agressive driver so I cannot comment on the handling. I am very happy with them.

I've had the Conti DWS on my BMW 335i vert for over a year and 20,000 miles. But I have 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 back, they don't seem that "soft" in turn-ins. Maybe it's due to the very short sidewall?
Great tire. It didn't snow too much last winter, and the DWS handled it pretty well.
