The design of the Corvette evolves with each new generation taking certain design cues from the previous generation(s). I won't single-out individual details but in general I'll say the C5 reminds me of the C6 more than the previous generations.

My favorites had always been the mid-years or older, and I kind of lost interest thru the 80's and 90's. When the c-5 came out, it had my interest up again, then when the c-6 was introduced, I thought they had re-invented the '63! What a stunning body style with performance to match! The build quality is so much better (along with comfort and ride quality) than the earlier Vettes- in my opinion, Chevrolet has built a world class sports car.

84-90 C4. If you look at the Corvette design trend, they tend to alternate each generation from rounded lines to pointy/angular lines. C1's were rounded and they have alternated every gen since. The C4's major facelift in '91 moved it to a more rounded design in line with the other cars offered at the time.

C3
I was in high school when the C3s were current and I lusted for one although I never had the money.
When I finally bought my C6 I chose a GS coupe because to me it came closest to the C3 I always wanted. Eventually I may even buy a matching C3.

I was a kid but basically lost interest in the Corvette after they dumped the C3 design and essentially built a door stop in the C4. I always thought the C5's and C6's looked similar but still found them plain/boring looking.
At least the C5/C6 eventually grew on me.

Almost agree with above. C3 Stingray was my dream car after that Corvettes lost IMO the sleek sexy curves that is until I saw my 2010 Grand Sport. C6 wide body definitely reminds me of the C3.
