The design of the Corvette evolves with each new generation taking certain design cues from the previous generation(s). I won't single-out individual details but in general I'll say the C5 reminds me of the C6 more than the previous generations.

Glassback C3 ('78-'82). Not the channel back version like my '74.

Nothing like the C5 or C4. Those are much longer and large.

My favorites had always been the mid-years or older, and I kind of lost interest thru the 80's and 90's. When the c-5 came out, it had my interest up again, then when the c-6 was introduced, I thought they had re-invented the '63! What a stunning body style with performance to match! The build quality is so much better (along with comfort and ride quality) than the earlier Vettes- in my opinion, Chevrolet has built a world class sports car.

Yes, I can see the 63-67 design elements on the profile belt line. With the C6, GM was really trying to resurrect a car which had declined in the 80's and 90's. I hope they keep it punched with the C7, otherwise, I'll hold on to what I've got!

Yeah, well how is that flip-flopping and generations going as a theory considering what the C7 looks like?

Through the front maybe a little C3. But IMHO the back window has a striking similarity to the C2 also and throw a little C5 in for measure.

C3

I was in high school when the C3s were current and I lusted for one although I never had the money.

When I finally bought my C6 I chose a GS coupe because to me it came closest to the C3 I always wanted. Eventually I may even buy a matching C3.

I was a kid but basically lost interest in the Corvette after they dumped the C3 design and essentially built a door stop in the C4. I always thought the C5's and C6's looked similar but still found them plain/boring looking.

At least the C5/C6 eventually grew on me.

Almost agree with above. C3 Stingray was my dream car after that Corvettes lost IMO the sleek sexy curves that is until I saw my 2010 Grand Sport. C6 wide body definitely reminds me of the C3.

I agree with Jimbo.. I see some C2.. in the profile. Course there is
Design hues from all generations too. You know, like horse breeders

I wonder if this thread will still be as popular 6 years from now as it was 6 years ago.
