Default MPG with 4:10 gears

So The wife and I took a spin down to Orange County from San Jose area. I averaged 26.3 mpg driving mostly at 75 mph. Hit traffic for an hour in L.A. and even did a few spirited runs on the on ramps off of HWY 5 out in the boon docks. Not to bad considering my LS3 MN6 has the gear change. I know I got close to 28.5 when I was stock gearing of 3:42 doing the same trip. Maybe even drove at 70 mph then too.

Some may find this a significant loss. I do not and would of taken anything above 25 mpg and been happy.

Hot ridding around town only is another story with fuel consumption though. But today it is about the trip and cruising at 75 mph.

Two in the car with luggage. I went solo last time with the stock gearing.

That reduction is about what I'd expect for the gear ratio change. If you are happy with the boost in "dig", it is not a bad price to pay.

The change just makes the car more fun. Besides the improved fuel consumption the stock 3:42 gearing was just to long legged for my driving style.
