Garage "HomeLink" on 2007 - Cannot ge it to Sync.
I have tied many times to get this to work on my 2007 Vert but it will not sync. I know how to do it and was successful on our 2011 SRX.
Our garage door unit is a 2006 model and contains the Random Roaming Code System. I have tried it per the manual.
Any ideas if this could be something with the Vert itself? Anyway to diagnose it? Frustrated!

I don't think the Vert is the issue. My vert linked up just fine. I parked directly under the garage door opener when I linked up and it worked as advertised.

Must be an issue with the older garage door opener.
I even tried it with the "Learn" button and pressing the two outside Link buttons on the Vert. Still no good.
Tried with the remote directly near the Ling, no good.
I gave up.

Follow these steps to program up to three channels:
1. Press the two outside buttons at the same
time for one to two seconds, and immediately
release them.
2. Go to the garage. Locate the garage door
motor head and press and release the
“learn” button.
After pressing the “learn” button, you have
10 to 30 seconds to complete Step 4
depending on your garage control unit. If you
cannot locate the “learn” button, refer to
the owners guide for your garage door opener.
3. Press and hold the button you would like
to use to control the garage door until the
garage door moves. The indicator light, above
the selected button, should slowly blink.
You may need to hold the button from five to
20 seconds.
4. Immediately release the button when the
garage door moves. The indicator light will
blink rapidly until programming is complete.
5. Press and release the button again. The
garage door should move, confirming that
programming is successful and complete.
To program another device such as an additional
garage door opener, a security device, or
home lighting, repeat Steps 1–5, choosing a
different function button in Step 3 than what you
used for the garage door opener.
Are those the steps you tried?

Yep! Right from the owners manual

Former Vendor
We have run in to this quite often, in 2007 and newer the Homelink systems are now Lear so you usually have to buy their little box you mount up by your garage door opener and then everything works like a charm. I had to get one so my Silverado and my wife's Impala would work, neither would program.
www.learcar2u.com tells you about this transmitter.

My 07 gave me lots of trouble as well, if you have not tried already, hold the two outer buttons for 30-45sec, until lights come on solid. this will erase the link memory, then start over again. I needed to do this several times before it worked. also go to www.learcar2u.com for more detail.
Your car probably has the car2u link and not the home link, home link has an etched house right above button 2. good luck
p.s. My manuals instruction is for the home link and the car2u, which was causing me 90% of my grief.

I had no trouble programing my 2007 to a Sears rolling code opener that is about 3 years old, took about 3 minutes total. If you do not select the correct type of opener and visor style instruction it will not work,
Did you make sure you used the correct instructions? There are a number of different programing instructions in the 2007 manual based on if your visor has One Triangular LED or Three Round LED's and then the type of opener.
from page 70:
"Universal Home Remote System
(With One Triangular LED) ..................... 118
Universal Home Remote System
(With Three Round LED) ....................... 118
Universal Home Remote System
Operation (With Three Round LED) ....... 119
Universal Home Remote System
Operation (With One Triangular LED) ..... 124"

The OP didn't say what kind of opener is involved.
I know that some won't work with the visor control without an auxiliary receiver - it's a matter of the frequencies used.
For example, my Wayne Dalton opener is in that category

I bet your car has a "Lear" unit and not a "Homelink" unit, I know that somewhere in 07 Chevrolet switched vendors to the much inferior Lear unit and never changed the instructions in the owners manual and for all I know the 12 may still have the wrong directions in the owners manual. At least that is what I found when I tried to pair my 09 with my opener.

This is what I have done to get the stubborn Homelinks to work... per a good friend that owns a garage door company.
1. Clear the Homelink by holding the 2 outside buttons per your owners manual.
2. Hold the existing transmitter next to the Homelink whild holding down the button you want programmed until it starts blinking.
3. Then press the learn button on the back of the opener.
4. Go back to the car and press and hold the button you are programming until the door operates. (this has to be done withing 30 seconds or so)
Good luck, hope this method works.

So where do I get programing instructions on the Lear? I did notice that when I tried to use the GM manual I screwed up my other car's button and had to redo it after I tried to program the Vert. Your news is disturbing that GM would put a second rate system in their famed sports car. Boo GM!!!!!!!!

Homelink has an etched house right above the 2nd button, car2u does not. the manual is for homelink, at least mine is.

Am I correct in that Homelink has the house etched in the transmitter and the Lear has the triangle?
One of mine has the House, and one has the triangle, both the same model year.
The one that has the house programmed fine, the other I have been unable to program.
I know that the opener is sensing something (on the one with the triangle) because when you press and hold the two outer buttons, the learn LED starts to flash on the garage door opener.
I just can't seem to get it to program.
Hmmmmm????
