Lucky he still has a motor and a cost of a new one if he did the oil change himself. I think in these cases the mechanic or owner doesn't put too much oil in, they just don't get all of to drain out. How much does a dry sump LS3 hold anyway? I'm guessing around 9 qts or so.

He is embarassed about something .. If not, he would have come back here and gave us an update.
No doubt, something is wrong in his court right now. I really doubt your going to hear much back from him.
This thread is dead for all practical puposes.

In reply to the questions re: my car smoking heavily.
My normal oil pressure was 35-45. I only have 4000 miles on it so never changed the oil. It was down a quart at about 3000 miles so I added a quart. Oil looks normal color. No loss of coolant or strange color. Smoke smell like oil burning, not coolant. Dealer could not see anything abnormal either. Dipstick shows normal level. Good thing the oil filters on these dry sump engines are double thickness.

This was his last post. ^ He states that he never had the oil changed but did add a quart a 1000 miles ago. I wonder if he checked the sump level while the engine was cold! If he did, the sump level could show a couple of quarts low when infact it was not. Just speculating....

I got the car back after 3 days at the dealership. They had no answer as to why the car was smoking. I only have 5K on the car and have not changed the oil. It was down 1.5 quarts at 3000 miles and I added a quart. The dealer now changed the oil and put in new plugs. I am told to watch it carefully. According to the dealer, the oil was not overfilled. It hasn't been smoking but I'm afraid to go too far from home. The dealer said if it happens again, they will need to tear the engine down. The car started smoking suddenly after being perfect for all 5000 miles. I'm on my 6th Corvette and take care of them meticulously. I had a 2001 Z06 that used a quart every 500 miles but that was recalled and they took the engine apart and replaced every ring and gasket.
Sorry for not responding. I only got it back 36 hours ago and I don't have a lot of time to spend on the computer.

The oil pressure is NORMAL for a dry-sump-equipped car. Have you ever monitored the oil pressure monitor before this incident? My 2012 GS makes the same oil pressures (gets close to 80 PSI all the time) as my 2006 Z06, which is not surprising since they pretty much have the same system. The misleading factor is that Z06 gauge has a different scale, adjusted for the high pressure dry-sump system, whereas the GS uses base coupe's gauge, which makes you think it is over-pressured - it's not.
I would also guess that it might have to do with the gasket (coolant intrusion). The other possibilities (like valves, etc.) usually have other catastrophic symptoms..

I think the OP did his own oil change last month:
