Default Frustrated

Living in the snow belt, every October\November I plan and order parts for my winter projects on the car to be completed the week after Christmas. One year brakes, one year seats, one year engine, etc. Not one time in the past four years have the parts ever showed up on time. The vendors are always very nice, but that fact is that I rarely, if every get the parts on time.

Is it just me, or do you have the same problem?

Merry Christmas!

I am from Wisconsin as well; it us just us. That is what we get for having to put the cars away so early.

Merry Christmas though.

I think the problem lies with vendors who are just the Middle Men. If they arent producing the product they sell then they are at the mercy of the manufacturer . you as the buyer want your stuff yesterday and this puts us as buyers in double trouble. So I think and expanded lead time as to your project might be in order. Unfortunately situations change and that makes it worse.

Order the parts in July. You will have them in time for Christmas.

Happy Holidays Tim.

New strategy!

Order this winter for installation next winter!

There is a car show in February, so I have a guy comming over today to detail it for me. As you can see below, it is very dirty.

Ok, I think I will take Calemasters recommendation. Had parts show up this week that had the correct part number on them, but thy were the labeled wrong from GM Racing.....

I have a rear diffuser on order for two months, and once again, it is going to be shipped this Thursday.

I think July may be enough time for not just parts, but the correct parts to arrive before Christmas.......

Happy New Year!

Check the exhaust clamp on the drivers side near the oil filter, it looks like it is not pulled up tight. All four of mine came loose from the assembly plant and had to be tightened!

Thanks! Good point! Since I added a cam it idles a little rough, so I have to tighten them every once in a while.

Good news! Sum of my parts were shipped today. What do you think the odds are that I will get a tracking number?

I think I will go buy a Power Ball ticket, my odds are better.......

Could be worse, if your in Canada the parts come via pony express, (then they charge outrageous brokerage fees).

.... Especially since I just read a post that you use to live in Dallas. Where we can drive our cars year round.

Well with the exception of when the super bowl is being held here. It will snow and ice like hell for a month. Probably wont have to worry about that for a while though.

I remember when business actually stocked parts instead of drop shipping from distributors and manufactures.
