Has anyone ever replaced............
the rear window seal? I noticed after I bought the car that the front seal on the rear window probably needs replacing. There is about a 1/4 inch gap betwen the window and the seal on the drivers side of the car about one foot long, right on the corner. It doesn't look like the window is out of adjustment. But it does look like a new seal might not be thick enough to fill the gap. I did notice that any water going in between the window and the seal will run down the trough, so it shouldn't do any damage that I can see. And I have washed it several times and the inside has never gotten wet. But I might just go ahead and replace it and see what happens. Have any of you ever replaced this? It is just the one that goes across the car. Thanks.

If it does not leak I would not worry. It is probably normal. Post a pic and I will compare it to my car.

The window seems to be fitted right as far as having the same gap between the glass and the car body on both sides of the car. They are the same. But the window seals tight on the passenger's side of the car. And there is a gap on the driver's side of the car.

I checked mine. No gap like yours. I can't see any paint below the gasket and above the hatch glass. My glass overlaps the gasket evenly all the way across the car. Something is wrong with yours.
Has the car been in a wreck at some time? I would take it to a competent dealer and have them look at it. Good luck.

I don't think the car has ever been wrecked. It looks like the glass was pressing against the seal at one time because you can see the imprint from the glass on it. I'll have to take it to a dealer next spring and see what they say. Thanks.
