**Headlights removed in 2-hours today**
Hey there,
My most awesome wife gave me new painted headlights for Christmas (through Mike at Eastcoast Performance <HERE>), so I had to remove them to send to them for painting and new lenses. I simply used a previous post's link <HERE> from ShockerRacing and it was easy-squeezy, and they were both out in less than 2 hours this afternoon. My VY vert will be getting black HL bezels and black lens rings, as well as new outer lenses.
A couple of details: I went with every tip, step by step as posted by Shocker, and it worked! Basically you unscrew the upper fender and bumper screws, pop-off the wheel liners and air-dam. No need to remove the whole bumper or either fender. No hang-ups or missed steps. Once I unbolted the 3 headlight mounting nuts from underneath I unclipped the wiring harness at that point. I used two 2x4 scraps to lift up the fender and the front fascia enough to wiggle each HL out, w/o someone assisting. Then to clean each one thoroughly I removed the rubber bulb-socket covers, held my shopvac to the holes, then tilted, shook and tapped it to thoroughly clean out dust, dirt & debris from each pod. Lastly I put each assembly points nuts and pop-fasteners in a labeled zip lock, for easier re-assembly.

Good post. I had my son help lift up on the fascia and front fender. Goos idea about the 2x4s. Hope you enjoy them, should look great. I am thinking about having new lenses put on mine and painting the chrome rings AW. I already have the black bezels but my lenses are getting a little ragged.

So, since these headlights are so difficult to 'adjust' - I have one that is pointing too high (or one pointing too low - whichever way you look at it) since "the accident". How's the best way to adjust them? Do I need to go to a dealer?

That's , I chose to do the entire job of removing the fascia, lenses, and painting the bezels. Believe I worked with Mike and RL on the lenses and instructions. Great guys!
Good luck with it, will definitely change the look of your car.

Sweet - can't wait to see them.

You guys know some s--t. Thx. Andy, I'll have to do this before I head home tonight from the show or I'll be blinding people in front of me.
Won't take it back - too much trouble for that.

Before removing headlights, it's a good idea to mark the height of the lights in your own driveway so they can be returned to the same height after reassembly.
