Default snow ski carrier

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and look forward to discussions concerning the fantastic C6 machine. Mine is a 2011 coupe- the third vette I have owned. My first was a 1985 coupe. I remember taking it snow skiing once (way back when) and know that I had some sort of removeable ski rack for the top. Is anyone aware of a comparable setup for the C6? Thank you in advance for your information.

I am talking about a day trip on clear roads into and out of snow country. Why wouldn't I want to take the Vette?

Not sure for ski's but they do make soft racks for surfboards for most any car.

How long are your ski's? If you are driving alone you can put ski's in ski bag and place them inside the car. I've transported my 6'7" surfboard inside the vette to go surfing. Just had to take the battery out of the fob (keep screw driver in back hatch), place fob in the trunk and put key in my trunks pocket inside wetsuit.

I live in Phoenix, AZ. It definitely does NOT sit in a garage all winter. The day trip is to the Snowbowl in Flagstaff.

The skis are right at 6' long. Two people in car but four skis might still fit. Being an automatic, it would be okay if they extended all the way to the dash. Will test that out if no rooftop carrier available.

Could you put the fob in a little lead box (maybe wooden covered with lead tape like that some people use on golf clubs) to avoid having to remove the battery when you leave it in the car while you surf? just a thought.

I use to have Thule ski racks for my 1986 Fiero GT Fastback, they worked great, I'd buy them again.

Thanks. Torch Red Corvette on clean, dry roads winding through snow-covered pine tree lined terrain. That is DEFINITELY one snapshot of the American Dream in action!

Yee-Haw! The only car in any of the pictures without a potential body rust issue. I think it is GREAT that you are having so much fun with that Chevrolet Corvette!!! Having fun is the point--- whether it is using it like that or keeping it absolutely pristine in a climate-controlled showcase garage. The Corvette is perfect for either one of those uses as well as everything in between.
