Default Vinyl front license plate?

I was thinking about solutions for a front plate on the C6 and remembered a car I saw once in college. The guy had a copy of his license tag made of vinyl and stuck in the front of his car. It was a decal. Anyone ever see this before? Anyone know where to get one made?

They do this in Europe and other countries, but it is not legal in the U. S.

Where were you thinking of 'sticking' it?

I live in NY and I don't have a plate on the front. I've been driving my Corvettes for 3 years w/o a front plate and I've never had an issue with the police. I do keep the spare plate behind my seat just in case I ever do have a problem so that I can throw it up on the dash (which isn't legal either but it shows some type of effort).

Excellent plan.
But please don't go making "furtive moves" if the officer can see you.
He'll be worried you're going for something tougher than a license plate!

I know... I know. I did it too with my 92 until I got pulled over for it. I don't want to give them a reason to pull me over and yet I don't want to adorn the front of my new C6 that the Chevy aerodynamists worked so hard on with a cheap metal plate. I know some will say it doesn't make a difference but it does we just don't know how much. Probably not enough to make a difference in regular use but it matters to me.

Have you looked at the retractable front plate mounts?
