Group Buy: G3 Composites Carbon Diffuser
As some of you know, we recently teamed up with G3 Composites, LLC, a south Florida based Carbon Fiber and composites manufacturing company, to bring you a group buy on a gorgeous carbon fiber diffuser for you're C6.
Everything in the G3 Composites, LLC lineup is manufactured in-house, right here in the good old USA. (One of the owners is a former U.S. Marine, too!)
The diffusers will be made from an AS3 2x2 5.7oz 3k aerospace grade carbon fiber, which provides the deep 3D effect that we all look for in our Carbon Fiber bits, then treated to multiple layers of an automotive clear coat, resulting in an incredibly bright finish.
Our inspiration for these diffuser was the very popular APR diffuser. We have been gathering information over the last few months, and have decided to make a diffuser very similar in looks. The main difference will be that we retain the OEM reverse lights. These will be a direct bolt on, with OEM fit. They will be pre-drilled with all the correct mounting tabs etc. Pricing is as follows.
$999 on the first 5.
If we get 6-9 orders, we'll do them at $949.
If we get 10+, we'll do $899 plus actual shipping (We estimate it to be $79-99)
Once the GB begins, these will take 4 weeks to produce. What we will do is we can take 50% down now, and the balance plus shipping when these are ready to ship. That helps with the initial cost, allowing you to reserve you're spot and not have to pay in full up front. These will have to be non-refundable deposits because once you put the deposit, the diffuser will be built for you.
Pre-Order List
1.c5c6 (3 Diffusers)
2.c5c6
3.c5c6
4.Yellow C-6
5.4MuscleMachines

I didn't want to add it to the original post and confuse anyone. I just got an e-mail from G3 with a suggestion.
Since the diffuser isn't built yet, and you guy's don't know what the finished product would actually look like. Here is what they suggested.
Get a $50 refundable deposit from 5 people, we'll make the prototype.
How about, once we get to prototype, they pay the remainder of your deposit, at which point it becomes non-refundable.
Basically, you would just put $50 down to secure a spot. Then once the prototype is built if you're happy with the outcome/look of it then you would pay the rest of the deposit on it. If you're not happy with the look, we would refund you're $50 back.
I would basically just make up a list and update is as we go along with who has paid etc.

any pictures of these with the reverse lights...? kinda important id say!
EDIT: sorry, just realized prototype isnt made yet. this is costing more than i expected (and i dont really need carbon fiber..) so I'm going to hold off for now, but i'm excited to see how it turns out!

Reason the carbon is so expensive (and really it's not compared to the APR, BPP etc) is, it 100% carbon fiber, not like some of the cheaper diffuser you see being sold. Those do have carbon but they are reinforced with fiberglass, so it's not a true 100% carbon piece. Anyway I hope to hear back from G3 soon and I asked that they build a fiberglass diffuser for cheaper, we'll see what they come up with, i'll keep you guy's posted.

Yea basically it would look like the APR but have the OEM reverse lights, at least thats the plan. I spoke to G3 today about the cost. They are supposed to get back to me, what they might do is offer this in a few different versions at a few different prices.

Couple questions before I commit to this? Is this exactly APR replica with OEM reverse lights on it? What kind guarantee you offer for fitment and quality of the part? I don’t want pay for something and don’t fit again. Had very bad experience with other factory try to make carbon fiber part.

Looks like this will become a reality. I have a guy sending a deposit for 3 of them. These first ones will be carbon. Not sure if G3 has plans for fiberglass.
