Default Code P2A04 Check Engine

Have 2007 base convertible check engine light came on reading code P2A04. Looks like 02 Sensor. Can someone recommend a "brand" and possibly cost of sensor. Is there more than 1 sensor. Sorry but never replaced one before. Car has Z51 package Pace Car with 53K

Thanks in advance

Hope this helps you out. Go to Rock Auto for more info on types available, try to stay with OEM or AC Delco. Your read out might tell you which sensor is bad. An OBD Scan Tool will usually identify Oxygen Sensors by the Bank Number (B1 = Bank 1) and Sensor Number (S1 = Sensor 1). Bank 1 will always contain Cylinder 1, which is located closest to the front of the engine.

As shown, you have four O2 sensors. P2A04 refers to Bank 2, Sensor 2. That is the passenger side downstream sensor.

Recommend getting OEM or good name brand. Don't get a universal one.

Thanks for the pictures and great reply. It surely helps. When I pulled the codes along with P2A04 came the following message

H02S Performance Bank2 Sensor 2
DTC Severity 2of 3 Repair Immediatley if drivablity issue.

I recently had the Torque Tube replace did this have anything to do with 02 Sensor possibly

Thanks in advance

It's certainly a possibility. Get under the car and check the rear passenger side sensor to make sure they got the connector fully seated, and to see if they possibly damaged some wiring. Or take the car back to the shop that did the torque tube and ask them to check things out.

The downstream O2 sensors just check the condition of the cats. Nothing for engine operation.

I will take care of the torque tube issue tomarrow. Have the shop check it out. Great information and thanks for the help much appreciated. Will advise as soon as I get an answer. As for OEM sensors looks like my choice is Delphi or AC Delco. Any time I have anything done as repairs everthing ever replaced ia 100% original. Having as # Pace Car I want it stock
