Default Center Console Latch
I have another broken latch on my center console. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Has anybody else had this problem? The other problem is the little piece of plastic cost $40.00.

Mine broke a long time ago. I never bothered to fix it.

My SUV's console latch broke after two years. They either need to redesign them or make them from a better grade plastic.

Yea the little piece of plastic is about as cheap as you can get.

Neither have I. Lid stays closed just fine and the latch and lock wouldn't keep a three year old out anyway.

Did you install a padded leather console lid cover, or is you console lid still stock?

Couple small pieces of hd Velcro works fine to keep it shut.

Mine broke too and I super glued it back together. So far it's holding up after several months.

I actually took mine off and threw it away when I put the new cushion on. It made all kinds of creaking plastic noise when I leaned on it. It was useless anyway.
