I typed wrong. I meant June 30th.

Did the 1953 Corvette offer an all season tire from the factory for those who wanted to drive it in Michigan's UP during January?

Corvettes were truly an important part of growing up for me and lots of other people my age. This post brings all of those old feeling back.

My car turns 50 this year and the museum is featuring (I think) the 62 model year and I'm sure lots of other first generation cars.

If I can get my act together, I wound like to attend and maybe the "bookends" could be there together.

A great post! Thank goodness Ford came out with the V-8 Thunderbird or else the 6 cylinder Vette with it's two speed powerglide transmission would have died, as it was rightfully doing. Now that Ford has a Mustang Shelby GT500 with 650 hp with a top speed of more than 200 mph, it is time for GM to realize the Vette is no longer the performance bargin it was a few years ago.

I had a 1953 Corvette back around 1960 in the Minneapolis area when I was in High School and drove it all winter long and never had any problem negotiating the heavy snow falls in Minnesota with the stock tires.

The 6.70x15" U.S. Royal Air Ride wide white tires worked out fine for me even in the deeper snowfalls. They were narrow enough to cut through the snow down to the pavement.
