Great job. Looks like a lot of work. Did you try buffing them with any of the products on the market?

I was wondering same thing about buffing them out.

OP, nicely done, tho. Looks like a fairly big project, and kudos to you for having the patience and cojones to do it.

I dont know about having the cojones per say, just a lot of confidence. I did try buffing them out. I tried just about everything on the market including expensive professional kits that cost hundreds of dollars. It only made them worse. Now, theyre 100% better than new

I exceeded my bandwidth from photobucket, the pics will reappear in two days on Feb. 20th. I had to pay $25 to Rlsebring for the instructions to figure out the time and temp. There are some other tricks and tips as well.

Thanks-I have 40K on my vert. During the daylight the lenses look perfect, but when I put on the lights at night I can see imperfections from striking bugs and sand. Nice to know I can change them myself.

Whew. Finished mine today. Anyone thinking of doing this. DO NOT cheap out and not buy the new rubber gaskets. Mine were dry rotted and had lost all their elasticity. So when I took them off I ripped a few of the tabs that hold them on. Then, when I went to put them on the finished lights they her all floppy and wouldn't sit on the headlight properly, causing quite the trouble when it was time to fit the bumpers.

Yea I hear what you're saying. My gaskets ripped in a couple areas, I cheaped out and glued them on where need be because they fit back on the new lenses perfectly and had retained their original thickness. '

For anyone who wants to see the pics and doesn't want to wait till tomorrow, here they are: http://s1114.photobucket.com/albums/...20Restoration/

I left my fenders on, just loosened to be able to get the lights out and didn't jack it up or remove the wheels.

That factory glue was a pita to get out of the channel. Lol.
