Default Mild to Wild

Is everyone doing the standard install or the battery saving one. Also what causes it to drain the battery? Has anyone had any issues with a dead battery?

I did the standard install on my last 6 C6's. I try to remember to turn the switch off (open the flaps) when I stop, before I turn the car off. It's pretty easy to remember, because I like to hear the pipes before I turn the car off. This makes sure there is no drain on the battery.
I've only had one dead battery, and that was on an 08 coupe when it was almost 2 years old......usually close to battery life on these cars. This is when I started to open the flaps before turning the car off.

Popular option so why doesn't GM install a Mild to Wild switch option at the factory?

Standard install. Had it for about 4 years now. Since it's a daily driver, there hasn't been much time for it to drain the battery. The pipes are usually closed when I drive through my quiet neighborhood and when I park. Haven't had any issues. Still running the original battery.

Standard position. I always have the flaps open, except when on a longer drive on the Freeway, so no problems. But, I also put the float charger on the car, as I drive the car infrequently.

Probably something to do the exhaust noise limits as regulated by the government.

What is the reason for NOT using the battery saving method? - quick and easy to do.
