Default Z51 or GS Which would you buy?

I have the chance to get either a 09 Z51 3LT with Z06 Wide body or a 10 GS 3LT. Both are Cyber Gray which I love. I'm leaning towards the Z51 because it has the Z06 fenders which I much prefer. Similar mileage on both.

Thank you for your input.

If it was me....the '10 GS 3LT. The '09 I wouldn't even consider!

Sounds like you are leaning towards the 09 because of the fenders.
Just be aware that some people may make fun because it's not a real Z06. (Ignore them).

I'm no where near as up to speed as others on the forum but, but........it seems to me the only difference between a 2009 Z51 3LT with the wide fenders and a 2010 Grans Sport 3LT is

the GS is one year newer.

The Grand Sport comes with the drilled rotor bigger Z06 brakes, the Z06 suspension and wide fenders of the Z06, but no LS7, just the LS3. 2009 was the last year for the Z51 suspension, it kinda/sorta comes with the 2010> Grand Sport.

Go with the 2010 Grand Sport.

I recently replaced my 2006 A6 with a 2010 GS.

The suspension and brakes are fantastic.

No question here. GS all the way. Reason: you won't have to explain over and over what it is. A GS is a GS and that's it.

The 09 has Willwood brakes and Z06 Spiders. Every option as well. NPP Z51, NAV, Both roofs, 2 tone seats, Auto. price is 39k.

They are basically the same car, one is a year newer, one has better brakes.

While the GS does have the Z06 brakes, it does not have the Z06 suspension. The GS's suspension is closer to the Z51 then the Z06. The OP didn't say , but if the GS he is looking is a manual coupe, it will have the Z06 dry sump system.

If it had ZR1 style fenders and ground effects (chin splitter and side skirts) I would go with the '09 because it would look 10 times better. But for only Z06 looks, due to resale value/trade-in, I would go with the '10 G/S, which after all is already a poor man's copy of the Z06.

I will add one more, there is no such model as a Z51, please call it what it is...a C6 Coupe with various OPTIONS of which one is the z51 OPTION, at a staggering cost of less than navigation.

Oh, and get the GS!

Think I'd go with the GS, even tho the '09 as it sits per your description has better brakes on it. The GS brakes are more than adequate for street use, and you'd only need to consider upgrading them if you're planning on doing any significant track work.
