This would likely get more good info in the Z06 section. I will move it there if you like.

Checking the car's past history can predict your future with it.
If it reads clean congrats on a good buy, they're amazing cars.

Personally I'd be interested in knowing about Carfax, tires (which you covered), brakes, fluid changes (including diff, brakes, trans and clutch), and whether it still has the stock tune on the engine, and therefore continues to be covered on the remaining part of the drivetrain warranty.
I would think the dealer should be able to answer those questions for you.

I have a 09 Z06. I think the 09's are a very good year to own. GM made a lot of changes from 06 to the 09's and I don't know of very many improvements for the 2010+ models other then the carbon synchro rings that I believe came on board in all manual transmissions in 2011. By 2009, GM seemed to have all the bugs worked out.

'09 with 29k miles is still under the factory GM 3yr/36K factory bumper-to-bumper warranty. And has lots more life under the factory GM 5yr/100K powertrain.
As long as the warranty is still in effect and the car looks good, runs good and is still stock. Theres nothing to worry about. These cars dont have many weak points..

This x1000
Would suck to have a problem down the road & your warranty be denied.
Is this car certified?

If the car is GM certified, that is great news for you because you can buy a GMPP extended warranty on the car even if it is outside the 3 year/36K mile time-frame.
You will definitely want to ask this dealer for the IN-SERVICE DATE of that car (the date it was originally sold and the 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty clock started running). If the car was originally sold more than 36 months ago and the 3 year/36K mile warranty has expired, you will have no time to decide whether or not you want the GMPP. If you want extended warranty coverage, you will have to buy it at the time you buy the car...or you will be out of luck.
With a Z06, you can never have too much warranty coverage.

My reply to you based on actual ownership of a Z06......
My 98 base C5 was in the shop for warranty repairs in the first 14,000 miles and in the shop once after my GMPP expired. It did not have a LS7 installed.
My 09 Z06 was in the shop once for a loose axle nut at 380 miles, Now, 3.5 years later and 16,000 miles, no other service work required other then the LOF's and changing out the clutch fluid twice a year(that every manual transmission C6 needs, Z06 or not). It has a LS7 installed.
"With a Z06, you can never have too much warranty coverage"
Are you stating this "FACT" based on your Z06 ownership , or just pulling this "FACT' out of your ***?

My personal opinion is that if the OP can extend the warranty on this Z06 for a reasonable amount, I would absolutely do it....and for a few reasons:
- These cars are expensive to repair (this would apply to all C6s).
- The price of an LS7 engine replacement alone would be a big enough concern for me. I know...it's not like these things lose engines every day...but it does happen.
- If the OP decides to sell the car, a used Z06 with an in-tact GMPP will make the car much more appealing to potential buyers. Again...this is my personal opinion...but I am not interested in a late model Z06 unless it has warranty left.

I can give you the name of a Chevy dealer in the Houston area that has an IMMACULATE 2009 Z06 for sale exactly like the one in the picture below.....oh, wait - it is the car in the picture below. It has just under 17,000 miles on it and trust me when I tell you it's immaculate.
There is another thread you may have seen, I just sold it to the dealer yesterday and it's a dealer I know very well.
