any body got pics of their car with the red caliper covers
i dont want to go thru the hassle of painting the calipers(but i will if need be)and sending them out for powder coating is not a option. how well do the caliper covers fit and how do they look. i already bought the red hub covers and drilled rotors and would like to complete the look.

i bought the red caliper covers with the corvette logo 2 years back. they are awesome and do a great job of covering those ugly corvette calipers. even if you paint the stock calipers its just gonna make the ugly calipers stand out more. installation was about 30 minutes at my mechanics shop.
im upgrading to a big brake kit from the zo6 in about a month so my caliper cover set will be up for sale

honestly? that is a cheesey look, like something from pep boys or jc whitney. that being said though, (see above) some people like the look of actually covering up certain parts of the car. it's all in how you percieve certain functional parts. to be beautified and celebrated, or covered up so you can't see them.

Honestly, for what a single can of caliper paint costs, I don't know why people bother with the hassle and expense of powder coating, or the cheesy caliper covers.
The calipers don't need to come off the car. Just pull them off the brackets and set them on a cardboard box. Spray them down with a little brake kleen, wipe them off with a rag and hit them with a can of caliper paint.
Once it dries, take a small piece of emery paper and sand the paint off the raised corvette letters.
I have an hour of my time and $7.50 for a can of paint into my project.

There is also an exchange option for you. You can send your unpainted ones in to somebody like West Coast Corvettes and they will exchange them for painted.

You can also leave everything in place and paint them with a small artist's brush. Buy the color you want at a NAPA auto paint store. Only takes them about a half hour to mix a quart at a cost $50+ bucks.

The caliper covers look better than trying to paint them plus they help keep the brake dust off the wheels.

Just say NO to caliper covers.
You aren't fooling anyone.
They are too big (disproportional) for the size of the disc.
The fake painted allen bolt heads multiple the cheese factor by 10.
Use this instead:

I’m not a fan of Brake Caliper covers, but I understand the appeal. if you’re just driving around town and want something easy to install that draws attention to the wheel, then caliper covers will do the trick.
I would respectfully say, if your type that enjoys taking your car to shows, cruise-in’s or to the track I would avoid them. Generally speaking, most car folk at these kinds of gatherings will not be impressed with caliper covers.
I did my calipers myself and here are a few pics along with a “How to” link” that I created here on CF. Also if you want a bit more “bling” I made some brushed aluminum shims that look nice on the calipers and cost nearly nothing to do….I have provided the “how to” link as well.

IMO, try doing your calipers yourself first and if you don’t like them, maybe try the covers. At the end of the day, it’s your car and if you are happy with caliper covers or just doing them yourself.....do what makes you happy.
Hope this helps,
John

Left mine in place and used the Duplicolor spray can spraying it in the cap and brushed on using a .99c artist brush. Pick up some aerosol brake cleaner and a rag to clean them and you're set to go. Did the old C5 the same and it was several years before it needed a touch up.
IMHO the snap on covers are too large and look ghetto.
