they don't blink, they are back up lights, The original backup bulbs in the DRL'S blink fine
This wouldn't work as they are leds which of course is why there is a problem to begin with...

So, the apparent key (in my case) is to find bulbs which are NOT led but ARE 6k in color... I see the return to stock in my future...

If you're considering swapping your back-up lights for your DRL's, then try these replacement 6000K HID back-up lights from corvette-mods.

No resistors need for these bad boys, but using an HID for a turn signal may be iffy.

Description
Electrical Components such as wire harness, bulbs and fuses are (Non-Returnable Parts) Always refer to a factory service manual when diagnosing engine service problems. You can damage electrical components if the proper procedures are not followed. Be sure you are replacing the correct part. Essential to run LED indicator bulbs, LED bulbs draw only 80mA and there fore your indicator will flash faster due to a blown bulb warning. There isnt enough start-up current made the mechanical relay click in a normal flasher. This fully electronic no load flasher unit is made for LED technology and will drive a limitless amount of LED indicator bulbs safely. Ground Black wire to a body or dash ground.

Exactly what I did. The OEM backup bulbs are 3157LL and should last, especially if you turn off the DRLs most of the time. Along with clear front markers there is no more orange on the front.
