Well, considering what I could afford right now, probably a Shelby GT500 with a complete suspension overhaul. I can't think of a single car at or below the Base C6 price range that I could use on a track. Yep, from Z06 on up is out of my price range.

I've been a Corvette guy since I was a kid, so this is is an excellent theoretical question.
I am not a man of unlimited means, so the exotics are out of my price range. I love sound, so my answer is tempered a bit that direction. I have a buddy with a Shelby GT500, and the scream of that blower just makes me grin - very appealing. Other than that, nothing beats the sound of a fat, solid lifter rat motor. If Corvettes were never invented, I'd probably have to build a big-block 72 Camaro!
