Default WOW Auction Prices on C6's pretty Solid. My car was priced really really well...

Now I know what many will say, "Nobody is going to give you that for your car" etc but it was good to know that the prieces at MANHEIM Auto Dealer Auctions show a favorable $$ amount for even a 2005!!!

So even on a trade in, i would not be upside down owing more than the car is worth.. These prices below are what dealers are paying to have on their lot or for customers so its a pretty good indicator to me atleast that when i was trying to sell my 2005 for 22,000 it really was a good deal...

Now add that smashing Millenium Yellow paint and Corsa exhaust and its gotta be worth an additional 2k right?? LoL...

Date Auction Price Miles Color

2/21/12 ORLANDO $28,700 4,725 SILVER 6spd
03/02/12 PA $27,700 22,331 YELLOW 6spd
02/14/12 HOUSTON $27,100 35,355 BLACK 6spd
02/29/12 SAN ANTO $26,700 46,287 RED 8G Auto
02/08/12 DALLAS $24,100 32,070 RED 8G 6spd

What do you guys think, am I right??

Are all of those cars '05's? If not, what year are they?

From what I've seen, looks like vettes are holding steady or rising in the used car market.

Can you post some prices on an 08 3lt vert
Thanks

There was a dealer here last week offering $29K trade-in for a 2009 1LT coupe with 3500 miles. The dealer said he based his $29K figure on auction prices?!?

there is a person on C6 who goes regularly to the auction and has posted prices in the past. he said about 6+ mos. ago that prices were actually going up on used c6s, not down as some had said.

Might be more than fair.

Edmunds.com says $26.5k trade-in for a base no-options 09 C6 with 3500 miles in clean condition in my area.

I don't get it. I sold the identical car (very low mile '09 1LT coupe) to my local CarMax 6 months ago for $36,000. They turned around and sold it for $39K. That's a huge price swing in 6 months.

If you shoot me your VIN number and general location like "west Coast" or Mid West" then i can run it on the Manhiem auction website and see results and or previous transactions on like cars and see what the computer spits out..

Only the most uninformed buyer imaginable (or, one captive to CarMax in-house financing) would pay that.

I think these prices are the exception, not the rule.

Especially with a dealer paying $27,000 at an auction, for a 2005 with 47,000 miles on it. Furthermore we know nothing else about these vehicles other than the title. The cars could have been S/C or had other very expensive modifications completed, which would indicate why their auction selling prices were higher than normal.

Your are wrong!! I am in the used Corvette business and the mod car at the auction bring way less money. Take a car with headers and a cam most buyers walk away from them.

This could only make me smile!! I might make more selling to a Chevy dealer than to a private party here on the forum!

Theres a silver 05 coupe on the for sale section, asking 35K!

Hang in there FMJ, I read an article about a month ago that stated used car prices would soar within months.
