Either way let us all hope the Corvette and the V8 survive for a long time.

I would agree with you normally but politics does play a huge roll in why engines are getting smaller. It is one of the reasons for the end of the LS engine.

Outstanding point. If we were talking about colors, tires or something else possibly being discontinued politics would be clearly out of line. Yet, with the engine possibly being discontinued due to government regulations or a agenda it is impossible to ignore. You could ignore it, but you would only be fooling yourself.

For my part, I apologize. I certainly did not set out to engage in political bantering, but admit I got caught up. My bad.

If an engine the size of a grapefruit produced 750 hp and comparable torque would you be against it because of its' size? I think not. Displacement IS NOT the be all, end all.

Maybe we should all just pretend we live in Disney Land and just hope the V8 survives.

And PRC is the correct place to discuss such issues.

Great point. If making the engine smaller is market driven we should all have no issue with that. But now that we are in Disney I'm just hoping for a LS V-4 with 2000 HP.

You could just remove the engine yourself and take it to wherever necessary for repairs or mods.

You know what seems absurd today, who knows what tomorrow will bring. It wasn't that long ago talking to your car and it responding back seemed like science fiction that would never happen and here we are, its reality.

This time will be better than the last time big blocks died, technology is mush more advanced, maybe a 5.4 twin turbo setup

It may have some direct injection heads on the old block with a new name. LSD 5.5? LS7 bore with a shorter stroke.
