What car/truck did you own before buying a vette

I sold a 1979 TVR Taimar before I bought my 2009 C6 vert. I replaced my DD 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata with my DD 2008 C6. No regrets on either count (I still have a 1985 TVR Tasmin vert & a 1996 M-Edition Miata to enjoy when needed).

As soon as my son was old enough so I didn't have to drive him and his friends all over the country for competitive league baseball games, I traded in the family's Honda Odyssey minivan on my Buyers Tour C6.

I had an '84 Porsche 928S (5-spd manual) for 16 yrs (1995 to 2011) until it caught fire & burned ! Did a fair amount of HPDE with it in the mid-1990's... great car to drive & it looked good, but it was nothing but a money pit, even adjusted for higher track-use consumables. This was my "C4" substitute...
Bought an '08 Challenger SRT8 (numbered series--orange w/black stripe) & drove it for 13 months... was just too big and wallowed in the turns. A boulevard cruiser, not a sports car. It did get a lot of attention, though. Got excellent value on a trade, so...
Traded that on an '09 C6 coupe (JSB w/ebony 2LT, A6, Z51, NPP) and drove that for 15 months. Great car but the A6
was a little boring. Thought I wanted a change from the manual tranny in the 928S... got good value on another trade
plus 0% financing, so...
Traded that on my '10 ZR1 (JSB w/ebony 3ZR, chrome alum. whls) that I have now... Nirvana has been achieved !
Glad I was/am fortunate enough to buy/own this car. There is just nothing like it at all...
(Z06 excepted--also an excellent car & value).

1987 Toyota 4Runner that I have been driving for 25 years, bought it new before kids. Just got a 2012 GS now that the kids are off the payroll. Couldn't part with the 4Runner, it's part of the family. The wife ended up with the new cars over the years. Thought it was time for me again.
