going against the grain: pics & vid

Melting Slicks
Cam or not that vid sounds like a beast. Now back to the OP (or anyone), how does this or any header sound with NPP on or off? I would imagine the sound w/valves closed would be nicely muted but a touch louder????

when mine were closed they sounded like the factory wild and when open it sounds like a beast. if you see in the video I wasn't prepared at the end for how loud it really gets and it almost put me on my butt.

QUOTE=darbydarby;1580412462]I know I'm probably going to **** off some die hard corvette enthusiasts but I don't really care. It's my car and I'm VERY happy with the turnout.
here is a short vid ( driving vids to come soon)

I was on a serious budget so I went with the Doug Thorley tri-y long tubes off ebay. They were $625 I believe. I then got a custom x pipe going to 3" dynomax bullet mufflers with angled turn downs. The exhaust shop made the x pipe an welded everything up for only $85.
I was concerned with the x pipe and bullets fitting in the tunnel but the fit was perfect.
The car is bone stock aside from the new mods mentioned above.
For those of you curious about the headers, the install was VERY easy and they don't hang down underneath the car hardly at all.It took around 3 hours. The drivers side went through the bottom and passenger side through the top. They say you don't need 02 extensions which I guess technically you don't because they clip together but they are so tight you cant keep them off the header so i went ahead and ordered them off ebay for about $40 so I could route them behind the engine.
The car sounds great at idle and not crazy noisy but when you put it to WOT it sounds ridiculous. I know many of you don't like loud cars but I'm just not past that stage yet :
with the wheels, tint, exhaust, paint, I prob invested about $1500 in the car and I couldn't be happier. It feels like my car now.

No model number on the headers....they are cheaper on eBay even though they still come straight from the dealer.
The wheels are reproduction wheels but the same size of a base c6 wheel.
I spray painted them graphite gray with rattle can paint from auto zone.
Thank you very much for the compliments!

Beautiful Corvette. What's to get pissed at? Doug Thorley makes great headers. I had them on my 454 motorhome for 10 or more years with no problems. My wife went to school with him in Pasadena CA. In later years he moved to Montana or around there. The company has expanded lately and maybe he sold it. They had a big display at last years SEMA show.
