Not mine but I think this is Monty Red and IMO looks pretty good with the black wheels. That being said, I personally will stick with either a machined, brushed aluminum, or polished rim on my MR.

Not to hijack thread (see my prev post), but this car looks great! I noticed you are in Corona (local to me). What shop painted your rear fenders? I have heard Monterey Red is a PITA to paint match, hence I have not gone wide.

The first guy I used was utter crap. The paint was so far off i was embarrassed. The second place was Alchemy in Corona. The GM formula that was in the system was wrong which is why my first guy failed. They had the paint rep come in and I gave him my old panel...they cut it into three pieces and set them to their different labs including Italy. They came up with a new formula that was near perfect. Unfortunately all my panels are a little off from one another due to the years, but it came out great. Give Scott a call at Alchemy.

looks like my old 06. Great combo.
I went from this

To this

I am a big fan of black wheels but IMHO chrome looks best on MR with tan top.

IMO chrome wheels on a Corvette is the only way to go. Especially on any of the reds!

Sounds like a long process....hope they don't charge an arm and a leg for all that. It is worth it though cause the car looks great. Thanks.

Sorry, I still vastly prefer the stock silver- painted wheels on my '07 Monty Red / Cashmere 3LT convertible. For me, the chrome wheels are too Guido, and the Comp Gray or black wheels make the car look like a beater taxicab. Still, to each their own . . . That's why they offer so many different ways to go.

Thanks all. After taking in all the feedback and giving it more consideration, I think I'm going to stick with the chrome.

Wow - I just saved a bunch of money. Hmmm, what next?

How about a nice box of premium cigars to remember how the forum saved you some big bucks.

Excellent idea. You mean for ME to enjoy, right? I don't think I could buy cigars for everyone on the forum - wheels would be cheaper. That being said, I will gladly buy anyone on the forum a cigar should we ever meet.

Excellent. I hope we do cross paths one day. Perdomo is a nice smoke.

I'm going to PM you about a cigar deal I just saw (and took advantage of).

I think polished gumbys would look very nice. A nice balance and fits well with the classier look of the tan top.

Chrome is a strong default but is a bit much with the tan top. Comp gray can work very well with MRM/CRM but with the tan top it would look funny. So polished is my vote.

I had a MRM Z28 before and have a CRM Vette now. It's amazing how much these particular paints are changed by the colors of the wheels, glass, top, etc. Just tinting the windows on a MRM/CRM car makes it looks completely different.

Maybe someone local will pop up dumping a set of stock gumbys. Lose the chiclets and they will make the car appear a good bit newer, while also having the benefit of a very strong factory forged wheel.
