This is a serious question for those of you with Black Vettes. Are some detailing sprays better than others at repelling dust? Would it actually be easier to keep that shine with Zaino or Rejex?

To me Zaino rocks. They also have a detail spray that works very well, if your car already have a coat of Zaino on it. The detailer bonds to the Zaino polish and produces a glass-like, smooth finish.

The thing that annoys me about Zaino is you use so little of it, it is hard to see where it is applied and where it is not. I always feel like I am skipping parts. The thing I really like about it, it allows me to polish the entire car and then buff the entire car. I don't have to polish the car in sections and then buff the sections. Oh, least I forget, the shine is unbelievable!

Zaino doesn't look any better than any other high end polish/wax, and there's no way anyone can prove it does, looks of a shine are purely subjective and if you're biased towards one product or another - well you know the answer to that.

Now what does make a difference is: Cost, ease of use on/off application, endurance / how long it lasts between applications, ingredients, and how it does or doesn't co-exists with other products.

Don't even go there with anything else...!!!

Meguire's high end products are good... But try these - there great and there cheap as well: DURAGLOSS

Then after you wash use this:

Plus any of the 3M products and there's a ton of them are all good - the pro's use 3M -

Can you buff those products (Zaino, Meguires, 3M...) by hand or do you need to use a random orbital polisher?

Most 3M products are used with orbital, waxes and sealers are hand applied and removed.

Lots of good routes to a sharp looking car. For me it's wash, clay, polish/buff, RejeX. My car is also black.

Amen to that. All polish/wax looks the same when you do a good job.

Detail sprays are a joke, including the "gloss enhancer" by Zaino. If you taped off a big square on the hood, used a detail spray or gloss enhancer in the square, then took the tape off, no one would ever see that you did anything.

For the record- after talking with Wolf Dogs awhile back, I bought a bunch of Zaino products. Tried the whole multiple coat deal, both by hand and Porter Cable- after blue dawn, wash, and claying. Still use the polish... but I could do half my car in $5 turtle wax and the other half in Zaino Z2/Z5 and no one could tell which side was which.

Quick Reply: Turtle Wax Black Detailer - works great!
