Thanks, I contacted Chevrolet customer service last week, the responded within 24 hours and followed up with the dealer. Area Rep. said he would call back after he has been notified that the water problem has been corrected.
That really sucks, I too was fearful of jumping back in an American car and so far my 10 GS has been just fine. I would ask for another car, this can't be typical or Chevy would go out of business. Ask for a new car or a free extended warranty. If it was me I would want another vehicle or full credit for an 12 model. Good luck and keep us posted.
Water pump failure at 30,000 miles is S.O.P. for Vettes. The replacement pump won't last any longer because it's a POS.
Just curious, what evidence do you have to support the 30,000 mile POS water pump theory?? Mine has over 93,000 miles with out a problem. Random failures of engine components happen to be sure, However, I have never heard of this 30,000 mile POS water pump issue before.

When you question a member, whether its his motives or agenda try the forum search. You will clearly find something out in this case.
Well I've read some interesting things here..like the guy that got 3000 miles on Michelin A/S rear tires..then the one about the magical odometer. Seems it went from 41,000 to 61,000.
I'm not questioning your experience as you reported it but I have a tough time believing that the factory "left off the belt to the compressor". Please don't misunderstand - I don't dispute that your car was delivered to you without said belt; I just don't buy that the factory didn't install it. These cars are tested quite comprehensively after assembly - there's no way a missing belt would fail to be detected (and corrected). There's got to be another explanation.

If the car was really missing the belt, it is more likely the dealer used it for another car.
