Youre gonna get a million different answers on this one...
I thought I had to have a vert til I drove a coupe, personally I liked the coupe much more.
Good luck to ya/

Thanks, I know you are right. But my goal is to learn from others before I buy. My last Vette was a 1967, and I had the hard top as well as the soft top. I test drove a 2012 coupe and was surprised about the huge blind spots. I'm sure I would adjust to it and use the mirrors. Still I wonder what members have to say about the differences in the two models as far as road noise, wind, radio play, and room for a small bag for weekend trips. I know I need to test drive a vert and plan to soon. Who knows what can be learned, so I asked.

To me it all depends on how much you can drop the top on a vert.
In Ohio, I didn't even consider a vert. If I lived someplace where I could comfortably put the top down for half the year, I'd probably get a vert.
I suspect there is no wrong answer and would love to have one of each.

when you say blind spots with the coupe, I presume you must mean when turning your head to look 3/4 rear either way. if that's so, 3/4 rear with a soft top up is pretty difficult, too. doesn't mean I don't like it! I do. but you gotta recognize the limitations such as pulling up to a diagonal road and angling correctly to see past the blind spot.
you need to test drive even a used C6 of any year that's a convertible. with the top down. I like it. you might, too.

There are no blind spots with properly adjusted mirrors. Lean your head on the drivers window. Turn that mirror out until you can just barely see the side of the car. Next lean over toward the center of the car and adjust the passenger mirror the same. Now you will be able to see traffic coming up in your rear view and then blend into the side mirrors. As the vehicle image leaves the side mirror it will be right next to you in your peripheral vision.

I was looking at the coupe until I drove the convertible with the top down and that made my decision. I ended up get convertible and absolutely love driving it with the top down. The nice thing you can mod it how you want.
Good luck with your decision.

It's a tough question to answer because that is really a personal preference. I have no regrets....

I was shopping for a coupe. I've had other convertibles recently and the top rarely came down. Found a decent deal on a vert. The top is almost always down on this one unless the weather is bad.
Tell us more about yourself and why you're going back and forth...you'll probably get a better answer.

I appreciate the comments so far thanks! They are helpful and I realize it comes down to my personal preference. I probably won't know until I drive a vert. It has been 26 years since my last Vette (sounds like a confession!) and I want to make the right decision.

If you truly like topless driving, there is nothing like the wind blowing through your hair (or across your skin) in a convertible. But if you want the flexibility of both, then a couple gives you that option, although you will get more buffeting in a coupe. The vert has advantages and the coupe has advantages. I would give it serious thought either way. If you really want a vert and settle for a couple, you'll always regret it (and vice versa). Just my .02.

My 87 C4 was a vert and I enjoyed it. I will be picking up my new GS this Thursday or Friday and this time around I wanted a coupe. Much depends on what you see yourself doing with the car. Wife and I plan on weekend or longer trips and wanted the extra room the coupe offers.
It's all good. Have fun.

For me, my Vette is a fair weather or weekend car. With that said, the convertible was the only choice. When I'm in my car with the down I feel like I'm "Motoring" vs "Driving".
I wanted a Vette because it is a great car and with its acceleration, braking and cornering abilities I knew it would tap into my senses and make driving it more fun. When you have the top down, it adds even more joy to the driving experience.

Having owned by a Coupe and a Vert C6 I can say without reservation that the Vert is a far superior experience. I would only get a coupe if I was going to track the car or needed the luggage space but the Vert is better in every other regard. The top is a PITA to remove in the coupe and there is too much wind noise/buffeting on the highway. There is a much more tire/road noise in the Coupe but slightly less wind noise. The Vert with the top down is what it's about for me. I'd never go back.
