Congrats and welcome! sorry about that moron. The world is full of haters of all kinds, live your life doing what you enjoy and don;t worry about others,we have enough to worry about in life like family and job. When I walk across parking lots with my GF going into stores,I feel the stares, especially from the thirty something dads walking with wife and kids.Been there, done that!!!

That is not the norm. Most people will tell you how sweet your vette is. Where are you located?

Speaking of morons I run into this some times they spend more on hunting equipment and cigarettes and booze than I do on my vett.

What a miserable SOB; I guess you can take solice in the fact that he must have a very miserable life to take the time to leave a note in such a cowardly way. As others mentioned there are a lot of haters out there. When I had a minivan when my kids were small there were plenty of haters (I confess I was not crazy about it, myself ); and the late PT Cruiser seemed to garner more than its fair share of nasty stares. I get mostly positlve reactions to the Vette but I know there are some who are envious. When I bought the Vette a couple of years ago, one of my colleagues commented "You must have been a quarterback or some sort of jock in college, that's the kind of cool guy who I think drives a Vette." I suspect that there may be a similar stereotype out there, which is why others resort to leaving notes like a school girl rather than risking a face-to-face confrontation. Who knows, who cares, just enjoy your car.

I maybe wrong on this but my feelings on this subject are those that react negatively towards Vette owners act this way towards anyone who has nice things and has shown some success in life. The Corvette is affordable to most middleclass people just some prefer to drive other types of vehicles. I recently purchased a 2012 GS and have been planning it for the last year. I saved up my down payment to put my monthy payment where I wanted it. I think alot of people out there associate a Corvette with extreme wealth when in fact it's a vehicle within the grasp of most of us. Just my 2 cents.

First, welcome! Congrats on the car.
Second, that guy has personal issues not related to anybody, but his own pathetic life. He probably regrets his poor choices he's made in life, and any hint of success of others just irritates him more.
His old lady probably has them buried in debt.

A certain segment of our population is just plain nutty - always has been that way. You just met one of them just like we all have at one time or another. Ignore him, move on and enjoy your ride.

I think the funniest thing that ever happened to me was at a night car show with all types of cars. I had my new to me 08 vette there and I do alot research etc... before I buy anything and was explaining to a group of people what I had and what I had done to it. What I hadn't noticed was an older gentleman giving me a eat crap and die look, (I was 27 at the time so I guess i was a punk kid to him). I later heard that he told another guy that he couldn't believe a young kid like myself could afford a car like that. What he hadn't realized is at the time I make good money and my wife also makes good money and we hadn't yet had a kid so I had alot of extra money to play with. I guess some folks get jealous of what others have and that's their issue not yours.

Congrats and enjoy.
I have only had one bad experience .. our Club was on a weekly outing when we noticed the local police officer making numerous speedy trips thru the parking lot .. with little respect for safety. When we came out to leave, I noticed a big fat "gubber" spit on an outside fender. Did the officer do it or someone else? Anyway, the Club never went back to that town again.

Don't waste any energy on the idiot that wrote the note. Just petty jealousy on his part. It's not the norm and will probably never happen again. Hope you continue to enjoy your new (to you) Corvette.

Hello,
Sorry for your bad experience.
With the current redistribution of wealth mentality it's not surprising that more people are experiencing this type of envy.
Funny how I hear people yelling that the Rich should pay their fair share. My question is when are the poor going to pay their fair share. The bottom 51% workers pay nothing and should be grateful to the people that work hard and pay all the taxes.
The root of the problem is that our Government spends too much and taxes too much but the attention has been diverted away into a class war.
Ignore the note and be glad you understand the value of hard work!
