I searched, but couldn't find the answer. My glove box latch has broken and now I can't get into the glove box. Can someone please tell me how to open the glove box with no latch?

Just happened to me a month ago.

There is a silver piece of metal you can grab with your fingers and pull. it will open the glove box if it is unlocked. its on the right hand side where the handle used to be.

your welcome. btw, my bet is that you have cashmere, which of course is the most expensive, cause they break to most often!!!!!

I've had this happen twice already. I even bought a spare as mine is Steel Gray which only existed as an interior color for one year on the '05 C6.

just insert a screwdriver and press - it will release

Definitely an engineering fiasco. Someone screwed up big time! It's not like anyone is abusing their glove box, it is just that the latch is totally inadequate. If GM had any moral fiber they would do a recall with someting adequate.

thats totally covered under warranty? why does GM use such inferior crap parts for the interior of this car? it's a shame really. the car is not meant for everyday use. flame on garage queens...
