Default Car Washes???

Anybody ever washed their car in a car wash? I never have. We are in sever, crazy water restrictions town in the North Texas (Collin County, Dallas area but, not Dallas) and cannot wash our cars in my driveway. Does anybody trust a car wash? Maybe a no touch to get the dust off, clean it up or something? Get caught here washing in your driveway here, might go to jail over 3 gallons of water for 10 years. Mayberry world here with Barney Fife behind every bush and no Andy to make it right....LOL

Thanks,
Doug

I use a touchless automatic car wash (no ground-tracks) all the time. Works great.
Exxon On-the-Run station...

Same story here in Oklahoma. Last year I took mine to the wand wash and it worked fine you can use only the low pressure if you want. I good when it's not busy and wash it in the stall with the low pressure just like in the driveway. Try it it's a good solution during water rationing.

It's just a drive-through bay with the fixed machinery installed on a moveable track (from above).
Drive in, stop, the wash runs for about 8-10 mins, drive out slowly under the blowers...

The only thing I like about Texas is that the show King of The Hill took place in Arlen, Texas. "I TELL YOU WHAT!"

The only thing about using ANY car wash is that the cleaning agents that they use are harsh on your clear coat. Don't use them any more than you have to and be sure you have a good thick layer of wax applied regularly to your car if you do go to car washes.

They have to use harsher cleaning agents to break down the dirt and grime without the rubbing.

Works fine. I use a small washcloth & water beforehand to get all the bug-splat off the clear-bra.

I take a sponge and my own car wash with me and only use the water they have and not the harsh soap. At least with the Corvette that is how I do it. With my SUV's I dont care. lol

Spray down the car and lather it up and spray her off. Pretty simple.

When mine gets real dirty I run it through a Touch-less car wash to get the heavy dirt/grime off.
Then detail it at home

Touchless if very dirty, then AquaNil-X waterless wash and wax..

"Normal" dirt, or after a day on rainy roads (it's my DD) then just AquaNil-X
