Default New tires, I need your opinion

I got a hole in one of my front tires of my c6 2008, the tire have 36k,
and now etheir have to buy a brand new tire or just change all 4 so they are even.
I hate run-flat tires because nobody want to fix and when you get a nail like I did you have to throw away the tire.
does anybody use regular tires in the corvettes?
second question what tire is good for the money?

Search is your friend. There are a lot of threads about tires.

Unless you are in the middle of no where, there are dealers that can fix run flats. But a lot of people think they can be fixed anywhere, which is wrong.

Do some research on the Hankook Ventus 12 evo K110. I have them and love them. They also have a great price range.

If you have 36k on them they are probably due anyway. I'd replace them all. For me, I like the run flats for the security. I run Michelin's Pilot Sport AS+ ZPs.

Same here....and love them, quiet, smooth, major difference over the G/Y's. And FYI, I got 2 nails in 2 separate tires with the G/Y RF's, put plugs in both of them and they lasted me over a year until I got the Michelin's, I don't track the car but I can be "aggressive" at times!

Hankook evos rock.750 to the door and most GM dealers will price match. Dam good performance tires.

20 dollar kmart air compressor and plug kit makes sense ..

Can you plug a run flat? Yet at 36 k miles is trash the tires for sure

with Dave. But unless you have a nail in any tire where it can't be fixed, a runflat CAN be fixed just like a non-runflat. the problem comes in finding qualified people who A) know what a runflat is, B) know how to work on it and C) know the similar characteristics of a runflat to a non-runflat. if you've been told a runflat can't be fixed, ever, then you've been told wrong information (unless the tire manufacturer specifically says that, such as Firestone).

I do a fair amount of track days and use it as a daily driver. I am on my second set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports and very happy with them for track and street (full tread). My first set was shaved to 4/32 but we decided it wasn't necessary and cut way down on tire life (duh). The full tread set have done great at some high speed tracks (Pocono and Road America) and also do fine in the rain.

I have them and like them very much. Tire Rack recently did a test of 4 A/S RF. THey like both the Potenza and the Michelin. They believe the Michelin is better on wet roads. Check it out.

Can't believe you have 36K on the OEM front tires. Mine needed replacement at 15K. The rears looked like they could go another 10K without any trouble but I would NEVER put better tires on the front.
In a hard stop you could lose the rear end.

Replace all 4!

yes I have 36 in all my tires and they look great I could easily use them for another 15k but because I got a nail in one of the front tires and i fixed it myself I will replace all 4.
