Dropped the car off at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, Tx for the new dash pad. They had it finished in about 4hrs. The tech then test drove it to check for any rattles from the dash, and there were none.
My friend took some pics of the old dash pad with his Iphone 5, and you can see how bad the dash was at the time of replacement.
Big thanks to Classic for doing a great job on fixing my dash!!!
Must be an 08 thing. I just noticed yesterday that mine is doing the exact same thing. Found this thread after doing a search to see if it is a common problem. Mine is an 08 LE Wil Cooksey.
This is a big problem..... Dealer helpful, but regional manager says sorry, warranty expired, tough! Dealer is willing to install a new dash for free if I want to shell out $2,100. This is a garage kept car with 24K on it. I'm extremely disappointed with Chevrolet.... and I would have thought Chevrolet was putting in quality components for the 4LT upgrade.
That's terrible. I hope my 2012 4LT doesn't turn out like that
Apparently this is not an isolated problem. The 4LT was a very, very expensive option, especially for what was provided, and now it appears what was provided was of dubious quality and reliability. Any automobile manufacturer with an ounce of integrity would replace any failed product such as the 4Lt dash at no expense to the owner, in or out of warranty. The key qualification here being "with an ounce of integrity", so we will shall see, won't we.

This is GM. We already know, don't we?
What a bunch of garbage. You can rest assured that it is not just a 2008 thing. It will start to show up more frequently in all model years as time goes on and GM will run and hide like weasels.
My 4LT wrapping was bubbling a little on the A-pilars. I'm surprised that I haven't seen more posts about it. Personally, I'd take it to a good upholstery shop to have them fix it and be done with it. No dealer is going to have the proper skills to fix it correctly.
I can't speak for the adhesive at the moment since my car is brand new. But, I've got it all torn apart doing some additional work to it and I have to say the quality of the stitching and the fitment of the leather is very, very good. I hope the aftermarket stuff I've ordered to complete the look is as good as what GM put in the car.
Also, I agree with shaimerej in the post above. If there is a bubbling issue, any decent upholstery guy would be able to take care of it without much ado.

Is the 4LT pillar trim different from the base interiors?
The standard pillars have a common tendency to bubble in hot weather, our 2006 was worse than our 2009. Bubbles usually go away when it cools down, or some people report success by pricking the bubbles with a thin needle and pressing the bubble away. I haven't tried that yet because ours isn't very bad.

Nope same vinyl crap in the 4LT as far as the Apillars go. I had a set re wrapped by DSVettes in my 07. It looked so much nicer in leather with the stitching. Might have to reorder a set

Wow, that's bad! I'm surprised they will not cover both parts and labor since it's obviously a defect. Hope mine doesn't get any worse and start to look like that, it would be embarrassing!
My 09 is bubbling up between windshield and defrost vent, took to dealership and was told it wasn't covered as my 36 month bumper to bumper had expired.

It is extremely embarrassing. That said, my wife and I are very involved in the local vette club and will drive it to vette events as well as continue to participate in car shows. I'll let the dash speak for itself... Unless Chevrolet wants to make it right.

Those A Pillars look great in leather with the stitching!

Have you taken your car to a reputable auto upholstery shop in your area? Perhaps they can fix it without removing the entire dash. It would certainly be better than living with it. You're not going to teach GM any lessons living with something that makes you unhappy. You may want to consider seeing if you can make it right (since GM is not) and not have to keep looking at something that isn't right. It may be healthier for you in the long run.
Ok so this is clearly a one off situation. It can clearly be glued back on but its gonna be a huge job since the dash has to be removed. Can't see how else they would fix it.
If for any reason it can't be glued back or there's damage I would go with a DSV custom dash hands down over the OEM for $1800 that's BS.
(1) Hypodermic needle with glue? - poke some tiny holes in it so you can squeeze the air out, then insert the glue in a few different spaces and press flat?
(2) Personally I would take it a good upholstery shop, rather than trying #1.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
