4LT Dash Pad problem!!!
I just noticed the other day that the dash pad on my 2008 4LT option is coming apart. The leather appears to be separating from the dash. It seems that the glue has failed. My car is garage kept, and has set outside a max of 10hrs a week this summer as I rode my MC most of the time.
Has anyone had this problem (could not find anything for the C6 by searching), and were you able to fix it?

Damn, that's ugly -- another GM quality triumph. I'm assuming you're out of warranty. I'd look for the best auto upholstery shop in your area -- one that creates interiors for higher end rod and custom cars. They will be more likely to be careful when removing your upper dash and repairing the problem. Avoid low end shops -- they'll do a crappy job and then shrug their shoulders when you're unhappy.

In my nearly 10 years on the forum, I have never seen any dash pad issues. If this were a quality issue, one would think there would have been more instances of this.

I was hoping that someone had ran across this before.

Undoubtedly you've thrown the other 4lt owners into a state of paranoia. The leather is such a nice upgrade. Good luck with your fix. There is bound to be someone out there who can make it perfect again.

What detail products have you used over the years of ownership?
Your the original owner?
Windshield ever replaced?
Texas summer sun?

I wipe it down using distilled water and a microfiber towel n between thorough cleaning and conditioning. Every 6 months I clean and condition with...

I do not believe they damaged the adhesive used by GM.

I hope I don't have to buy a new dash pad!! The factory replacement is about $1800 shipped from some of the venders.

Second owner, October 2010. Kept garaged and if driven to work, sun shade put in the windshield to keep the sun off the interior. Windshield has not been replaced to my knowledge.

If for any reason it can't be glued back or there's damage I would go with a DSV custom dash hands down over the OEM for $1800 that's BS.
