Default Z06 wheels on a coupe

Can anyone tell me if the stock wheels from a 2008 Z06 would fit directly on a 2006 coupe? Are the wheel / tire sizes the same?

"Fit" is a relative term. Yes they will bolt up. The Z06 wheels and tires are wider than the base car and the offsets are different which pushes them even further out. So you could use them but you run the risk of damaging the fenders if the suspension compresses far enough on a good bump, etc.

Here is some basic info with pics:

You can successfully use the front Z06 wheels with the standard base car front tires with no problem.

I think that is what I am going to do unless someone comes up with a deal that is just too good to pass up. I need to get these stock aluminum wheels off this car as soon as possible.

Just my opinion, but I think the chrome Z06 wheels are the best looking ones on the road.... But you know what they say about opinions.

You might want to consider Ace Slick wheels. They look very similar to the older Z06 wheels but are made to fit a regular coupe. They are 1 inch wider in the front and back but fit just fine.

Here's what they look like. Also you can get a set for under $900 I believe. You can get these in chrome or Hyperblack (looks like silver though).

All wheels for the C6, GS and Z06 are aluminum, only the style, size and finish differ. It's been many years since a wheel made of anything but aluminum was available for a Corvette.

Understood. When I said aluminum, I meant the flat "painted aluminum" finish that is dull and boring. I am looking for chrome as it really seems to make the color of the Corvette, whatever color it is pop.

BTW - I sent an e-mail to Keith at 1stratecorvetteparts as suggested above and he already called back with a really good quote. Thank you for the tip.

And a bonus with the ACE Alloys "Slick" wheel is that you can install Z06 brakes on your base coupe with no clearance issues.

Of course, another option are the TSW Nurburgring wheels I currently run - these are 19/20 inch and also clear the big brakes...

Yes, I forgot about that. Ace Slicks will clear Z06 brakes and you can use your stock OEM tires.
