Painted the barrels of my Chrome GS Wheels
I wasn't a big fan of the gray-painted wheel barrels of the chrome GS wheels and did a little reading here for options. I had already painted my rotor hats black because I didn't like the gray look there either. I saw that a few people had mentioned painting the barrels black but I didn't see any posts where someone had done it on GS wheels. I thought the contrast would be nice so I took a shot today and did mine. I really like the look and the contrast; much better to me than the gray. They should be easier to clean too because the surface isn't as rough as the factory finish. Here's some pics for comparison:

Thanks everyone!
I used caliper paint on the rotors to withstand the heat (temp range up to 900 deg f) and engine paint for the wheels (up to 500 deg f). I cleaned up the barrels, hit them lightly with 400 grit, wiped down with laquer thinner, then sprayed. About 2 hours total including removal and install.

Very nice on a black car. I'm not sure black would be my choice on other color cars but it looks great on your's.

Looks super, makes the chrome stand out, doesn't show the brake dust, love it. I did that on my C3 to help hide the brake dust. I am going to it on my 2011 GS.
