This one looks like it might have been lowered half an inch or so just in the back.

Here's a serious answer...it is okay to lower the rear if you are trying to even out the rake or to sit the rear down some.

I imagine someone has....probably more for appearance than for performance. Dialing-in the setup precisely may not be critical unless you track your car but one thing to remember is anytime you start turning one ('height') adjustment bolt it affects the other corners of the car....the one diagonally the most. Many C6's are not setup accurately at the factory (mine was off side-to-side) so just turning bolts an equal number of turns is no quaranty your car will be setup right. Road racers often try to lower and 'level' the car (while maintaining a certain degree of rake front to rear). I would normally not recommend lowering the rear and ignoring the front of the car nor would I recommend just turning bolts and equal number of turns. There are specific steps and procedures to follow to setup the car properly....it's not overly difficult but it's a process. That being said...depending how you use your car dropping just the rear may not make a huge difference to you for all practical purposes. Go for it...see what you think.

With those wheels how could you tell? The setup looks horrible (all show and no go)! The car appears to sit way too high.

I was just going to do it for looks. I Like the same height at both ends. If its going to screw up the ride and other stuff, I would reconsider. Thanks

I'm probably going to be doing this. I put LG Drop Spindles (which lowers the car by 1") on the front and back but now my front end is too low. I am about to install ZR1 splitter and side skirts, so I will have to raise the front end back up so I won't be scrapping the splitter everywhere I go.

I may very well put the stock spindles back on the front which will raise the front back up by 1".

On most of the stock C6's that I have seen, the gap on the back wheels to the fender edge is larger than the gap on the front wheels.

I have. Just lowered the rears all the way on stock bolts. It def stiffened up the ride and you feel every bump but look good.

I upgraded the shocks to bilstein HD's and run michelin ps2's which are a softer ride but again with the rear lowered you will def feel stiffness and all.

Thanks,

I can't remember the turns but I turned it until I couldn't turn no more

I didn't get it aligned but I've been monitoring tire wear and it's now over a year and my tires are wearing even so no issues.

20's in the back 19's in the front.

Those wheels are nice. Who makes them. I have the same color and want to go to black wheels.

you should try raising the front by turning the lowering bolt the the other direction instead of taking out the drop spindles.

I lowered my 07 all the way down in the rear. Then that wasnt enough so I cut off one layer of the donut. Here is what it looked like. The front was stock.

I did just the back for two reasons. Thought the back was a tick too high, and needed a little more clearance on the splitter. With the ZR1 splitter sticking out, by lowering the back it rotates around the front and actually raised the leading edge a little. Lowered all the way on stock bolts and cut half the rubber. Still has a slight rake.

Do you get better traction off the line with just the back lowered?Or better handling in a curve?
