Default Nice Weather

Weather has been nice so I took some photos! I now have 250 miles on my 427! Time to slow down, but it's just a pleasure to drive!

Just checked out the C7 forum. Amazing how much hate and angst the 427 STILL causes with the "purists" with threads contemplating a C7 Z06 Vert and how it would "ruin" the model name, etc. We really are lucky Chevy bucked the crowd and built ours, even if for just one year. Brings a smile every time I see her. LOVE the lines of the vert, and actually prefer it, top up or down, to the coupe. I know, I am heretic...

This winter has been a tough one, but I have just HAD to bust the car out for a spin or two, road salt, sand, grime, and all. I LOVE taking off on cold tires / roads in this machine. Giving my nannies a workout!
I had my top down today, on a beautiful sunny day, getting on the freeway 3rd to 4th, & man the sound this car puts out at 6000 rpm! Shift to 5th and just let off the pedal and coast on up behind a car in the hammer lane! It's one mean machine!

I love the look top up or top down & the cab is surprisingly quiet. It's just a great car and a lot of fun, right out of the box, stock!

As I was washing & waxing my 427 following the recent rains (I keep my car immaculate), I viewed the beautiful smooth lines, the wide body, fat tires, and those big beautiful round tail lights, and thought to myself, there is no way under the sun I would trade it in on a C7 Stingray or C7 Z06 Vert. I love the style and the LS7 motor and it's sound too much!

Like many here, I passed on the C7 and opted for the car that I was passionate about!

I too passed on the C7. I traded a beautiful triple black 06 for my 427 Vert. Love, love, love those round tail lights !!!!!

I will but I usually swap rides out every couple of months so everything
gets driven. I really am enjoying this 427 takes me back to 1967 when I
saw my first 427/435HP.

Good for you! I hope you have as much fun as I am having! I have a really nice selection of rides. I always keep my Ferrari down for weekends,
and I swap out my weekly driver every month or so.
The Porsche and Beetle are my wife's rides.

Unfortunately, my '66 and my wife's 427 convertible are still covered and waiting for the snow/salt/slop to disappear. 50° yesterday and low 40s today is making things look a little more like spring but the cars will look like this for a bit longer.

View of left side guard from rear to front. I'll take a little at a time off the trim line until it can rotate counter clockwise enough to fit around the front of the side skirt. I may have to take some off the left side also but this will allow the edge you see on the right side to come back flush against the inner fender. As it fits now, this edge is about 1/2 inch off the fender liner and hange dangerously close to the ourside edge of the tire when turning full left. The left edge has a rubber seal (removed here) to protect the paint.

In this view, the left edge is the inside edge and the surface facing up is the leading side that will catch all the debis.

Hope this photobucket thing works. My first shot at it.

Sorry to hear that, but soon you will be in the wind & top down!

By the way, what CVO do you own?

Did you post this great idea in the other 427 thread?
Well, living in Ct., I was thinking by late April, roads would be clean, we can drop the top, and cruise. What about meeting in someplace like Sherbroke Village, in western Ma., for a lunch?

Not too far from most of New England, maybe get the place to give us part of the parking lot? Have lunch, and be on our way, for some more of those great miles...

Neither of those bikes is a CVO. The Harley on the left is an original '56 flh Hydra-Glide and the bike under the black cover is an '02 Low Rider while the little scoot way on the left is a '55 Cushman Eagle. If you look up on the wall on the right side of the garage there is a picture of my wife and I on the '56 pan.

Those are the same ones Ecklers and RPI sells. They're nice too.
Did you do museum delivery or Experience? I did the Experience in 05 with my 02 Z. Great time, they treat you like family, and we had a blast.
If you've never done delivery, do the Experience. It's worth the $$.

See it! Very nice! I have a 2012 CVO Ultra, & the cover looks just like the one on your low rider.

I did NCM delivery. Kind of neat since I live in Louisville, KY, I hitched a ride from my salesman and we all got the kid glove treatment around the museum. Assembly plant tours were closed and cloaked in secrecy begining Oct or Nov 2012 over the C-7 re-tooling, so I have a 'rain-check' for my plant tour.

If I had it to do again, I'd have bought the option where they photograph your car being built and organize all that into a snazzy kind of scrapbook. That would have been the icing on the cake for a 60th birthday present!
