thank you , nothing beats top down driving!

So Far I love my 427. Always interested in a new resource for info and Tech help. Always glad to hear what other owners are dealing with.

Saw one at a show recently that had the 'real fix'...removed the tape stripes and had them painted by a quality shop. WOW, what a positive difference that made. If you like the stripes, IMO that's the only way to go!

Of course GM should have painted them on in the first place, as any 90K+ sticker vehicle should be done.

For any of you folks who like the relatively rare, stripe delete, blue diamond anniversary car, I thought I'd post a couple of photos from our recent SWFL (southwest Florida) Spring Nationals. We were thrilled to go home with one of the 'Best Of Show' trophies!

Default Replaced my battery today

Although I keep it on a tender I don't like to trust a battery more than 4 years old -' plus the dealer I bought the car from had let the battery go flat a couple of times while it sat for sale.

I bought an Autozone Gold battery. I was pleasantly surprised that it was an exact fit inluding the vent hole. It's rated at 650cca versus 590cca for the OEM battery and has a 5 year warrantly (3 year free replacement). Installation was simple and other than reindexing the windows nothing needed to be reset. I was especially surprised that all my radio, gps, and seat memory presets were retained. Glad I did it.

Default About time for new tires

I have a little over 28,000 miles on my original tires and am almost down to the wear markers. I figure that I'll install a set of the new All Season Michelin runflats when they become available in a month or so. My biggest concern is finding a shop that can do the install without damaging my ZR1 wheels. Not sure if I should trust the dealer (Columbia Chevrolet) to do this or not. Anybody have recommendations for a shop in the Cincinnati Area for tire changing (and alignment).

larry at McCluskey Chevrolet, in the Kings Auto mall is the best Corvette mechanic, at a dealership, in the city !! With that said, it appears everyone has a problem changing our tires! Other than that, LARRY is the guy you want working on your car !

Thanks for the info. I just checked my stock tires (with 28,036 mi on them) -- they are evenly worn front and rear and have 1/16" of tread above the wear mark. I actually think they might be good for 35,000 mi --- what are other folks experience? Have you driven your 427 convertible enough to need new tires?

bought mine at the end of June '16 with 22,800+ miles and it needed tires more due to the fronts wearing to the cords on the inner edges from an OEM alignment................. replaced them in October and now just over 24,000 miles and ready to roll on fresh rubber for this year....

you may want to look at the inside edge area of the fronts on your car just to make certain they are evenly worn in that location too....

I was able to talk to the previous owner of the car shortly after I bought it -- he said he had the alignment checked at each oil change and specifically instructed the Corvette specialist at the dealer to align for best tire life. I guess it worked, because I only saw slightly more wear on the inside of the front tires.

Default Cyber Gray CFZ package

Just want to give fellow 427 enthusiast a lead on a complete original GM Cyber Gray Metallic CFZ package.
My car is black and I just acquired a complete black CFZ package for spares. This freed up the CFZ package I had in Cyber Gray. Side Skirts never installed, complete with GM production stickers and markings. The front Splitter is perfect as well with flawless paint and original production markings and stickers. It appears it was mounted and removed.
Parts like these purchased now come from GM in primer, paint to match. This parts are priced well below GM online prices. PM if interested. It is very hard to capture how nice these pieces are in pictures because of their size.
Thanks.

PM if interested. Taking pics today for forum ad to be placed this evening or tomorrow.
