Recently acquire my 427 Collectors Edition in Crystal Red. I bought this car sight unseen after scouring the Internet. I had my sights narrowed down to three cars, each at a different Dealership. After a fair amount of negotiation, and lots of email, phone calls, and signing of documents, I purchased my car. I made arrangements to have it shipped from Illinois to Florida. All the paperwork and pictures promised the car was show quality. The deal was I pay for the shipping to Florida. If the car was not perfect as advertised, I had three days to return it at my expense. The car is perfect and is not my all time favorite car and I have had many great cars. Anyway, I will get more information other than the pictures but it is late and I don't want to wake the dogs or my wife by going into the garage.

Congrats on your purchase, it’s a fantastic car given its performance to cost ratio!

Cheers,

I bought my 427 with 4,000 miles close to 4 years ago. I now have 18,000. I absolutely love all aspects of this car. I would change nothing (well, ok i would not mind a little more cam in her!). I am only hoping the weather changes up here in Michigan so I can start enjoying it again! This car is the best form of mental therapy period! Working in the automotive industry I need all the help I can get! Come on sunshine!

Sorry about the late reply, I bought my 427 from a dealer in Texas with 4,000 miles in November 2014, it went right into hibernation for the winter. When I brought it out in the spring i noticed a large bubble up near the defroster register. I took it into the dealer and they replaced the topper under warrantee. They also replaced the leather wrapped trim piece at the top of the windshield as it had a cut in it. No questions asked. There is obviously a delamination issue with the adhesive to the substrate. Perhaps the substrate was not properly pre-treated before lamination pressing. It requires flame or plasma treating to break the surface tension allowing the adhesive to penetrate into the surface. I have had no problems with the replacement panel. It has been 3 years since. I have had some electrical nuances and a problem with my carpeting but I love the car so much I turn a blind eye!

So, what's wrong with it? Why don't you like it?

I posted a thread on this in C6Gen - I reached out to GM - my car being out of warranty, and they stepped up and are spitting the cost of replacement with me. I am pleased. It goes into the shop as soon as the dealer gets the part. Sunset Chevrolet in Sarasota is doing the work. they sell and service a lot of corvettes and they have done work for me before. Good Dealership. I will post up photos of the repair.

Post up your vin and I will add you to the list. You can find the engine builder on a placard on the valve cover under the FRC on passenger side.

Default After a month of waiting, I finally got her home!

I've been looking for this car for two years, and I'm happy to say she is finally mine! Here is what I can share over my two year journey. Out of the 17 Inferno Orange Metallic 427s produced, I have found 5 for sale over the past 2 years, including mine. Two were reasonably priced, but had 30,xxx and 50,xxx miles and only going by pictures looked like they had been well driven/abused. Two were low mile pristine cars, but the sellers wanted 60K or more for them. Finally I found my 6,200 mile, 1SC, with carbon package and black wheels I was looking for, #0932. The previous owner is a fellow Corvette enthusiast who pampered the car. He knew what he had, but we were able to come to a fair price for both of us. I am the 4th owner, but you certainly couldn't by the immaculate condition of the car. Could not be happier with the purchase! Sorry for the phone pics, I'll throw up better ones when I get some time, and join the registry page as well.

Lou, maybe look at what Katech has to offer for a Splitter or side skirts. There quality seems comparable to factory at about half price. I’m not affiliated.

Default Black Painted Spoiler - Color Code?

I am considering having my spoiler painted black to match the black painted front splitter and side skirts. Has anyone done this? Would you please post a picture? I would especially like to see this on another IOM or TR car.

Does anyone know the color code for the Carbon Fiber package that come on the 427s?

Thanks in advance!

Default Carbon package color code, RPO 41 or GM code WA8555 Black

GS982, the color is going to be the same as Ebony or Black for the 2013 Corvette. The Black CFZ package on the 427 is an exact match.
For different paint supplier codes for the 2013 colors try this link and scroll down for more details.

If you have looked at my signature, you know my DD is a 2015 Infinity QX70S. Well. I have grown tired of driving an SUV and my wife wont drive it anyway and I never haul stuff - and when I do, I rent a truck!

So, as of Saturday Morning, I will be driving this and the 427 will have a new stable mate.
